Just read this on Xtra:

Tennessee backup receiver Austin Rogers will not play against Alabama on Saturday and will miss 3-4 weeks after being diagnosed with mono.

Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer said Rogers, a sophomore, is a redshirt candidate and the UT officials are checking on his status.

Rogers hurt his shoulder against Florida on Sept. 16.

He practiced Monday, but did not practice Tuesday or Wednesday.

On the positive side since he didn't redshirt as a freshman hopefully he will have three more years at Tennessee.

I am drawing a blank but does that put that outstanding freshman from the fall in the starting 5?

Hancock? Not sure. I think the top 4 would be Meachem, Swain, Smith, and Taylor. So I guess that 5th spot would be between he and Briscoe.

Thanks, that was him but the beer has clouded my memory. Him or JB, I would love to see them produce this weekend. But, I will take 150 each from our big boys.

The thing is this could get a lot worse.... I am pretty sure Mono at some stages is very contagious (sp). Not sure how the distribute water at practices, but if other players were drinking after Rogers it could get ugly.... I am no doctor at all. But I am almost positive Mono can be transferred this way. Along with kissing, but I dont think we have to worry bout that.
