Ran my first-ever Autocross this past weekend, after oval-track racing for much of my life. Age, time, and budget prevent me round-tracking anymore but I really enjoyed Auto-X. It was unsanctioned, laps were timed but no classes, trophies, etc. Will probably join SCCA and do some of theirs. Pretty good options around Middle TN. Anybody else?

VW Passat, my daily-driver, lol. If I decide to continue, I’ll acquire a car mostly dedicated to that. I pushed it harder than I should have trying to improve times.

Became interested when I learned that a road course has been built near where we plan to retire, Lima Peru. (Wife is Peruvian). Hopefully something I could enjoy there someday, so I wanted to get a taste before I buy a car in Peru.

Volinbham, have you been to Barber?

Many times. Have driven on the track (parade laps) 5 or 6 times (cars, motorcycle, even my Vespa!). Have done ride alongs with amateur racers.

They do "Drivers Education" events where there's no racing but you can go as fast as you can. Usually the various car clubs organize these.

Awesome! You mention bikes, last weekend’s autocross was held at NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green. Motorcycle track day was being held also the same day. I had considered taking the Harley up there to play. Glad I didn’t, serious sport bikes would have laughed me out. After I had pissed them off by being in their way. 😳
