Away uniforms?

Do we still have the same away uniforms? I haven't seen any pictures lately that show we have new away uniforms. Ive seen the home ones but the away ones look the same as last years. Any one know if they are different this year?

I have wondered this too. Will we continue to wear the new TechFit unis or will it be a one-time deal like the Nike Pro Combat unis last season?

The pro combat uniforms for the basketball schools became they're full-time uniform. At least that's what Kentucky and Michigan state did iirc.

I like the new Jersey's, but would prefermore of a block font on the names, and a little bigger

Yeah because new uniforms got Alabama that national title last year.

New uniforms don't win game either genius.

We'll have new whites on Saturday. Same design, Techfit material.

As for basketball, the new away jerseys are the same as the new home jerseys, just flip the orange and white. There are rumors (as there are every year) that there is an alt of some sort as well. I think there's more to the rumors this year.

There are black alternates made every year. Bruce doesn't like them, so we never wear them. The players and anyone under 25 years old like them though. Last year, Bruce came as close to considering to wear them as he ever did; maybe he'll crack this year for the Pitt, UConn, or USC (west) game (my guesses). On a side note, I want the both UT-UK games to be played in orange and blue, no white uniforms.

I have no issue with our uni's, but wouldn't mind to see the black uni's out on the court once a year or so. Maybe even for the pre-season NIT should we advance to the Garden! That would be sweet

That's not an accurate statement. With the exception of the 1999-2000 season, there have not ever been black basketball uniforms delivered to the team. The 99-00 jerseys were killed by Doug Dickey and shipped back to adidas.

There have been designs and even prototypes presented almost every year, but they have not been ordered or delivered. There was also a gray design to be used as a home alternate that was considered two years ago, but, again, was never ordered or delivered.

I can't say for sure that has changed this year, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm not sure what you mean because I own 2 black jerseys made in the past five years. And I basically summarized an entire GVX article from last year's preseason concerning the players' and Pearl's thoughts on the black jerseys. You may be right that they never ordered them or anything, but the everyone on the team got to see them and give their two cents. Like I said, Bruce doesn't like them, but a handful of players want to wear them for a big OOC game.

I didn't say they weren't made available for sale in stores, obviously they have been. They made and sold gray ones too.

But you said they had been made for the team but we had elected not to wear them, and that's not the case. The team has never had an option to wear black before this season because they have never ordered or received them. Just because adidas makes something for fans to buy doesn't mean the team has a version of that to wear on the court.

Ok, however you want to say it, Scotty, B. Maze, and Renaldo saw them at some point before last season started and told GVX that they like them and that they hope they could wear them. They jersey or jerseys they saw could have been a sample from adidas, some kind of prototype, or even a replica from Sport Seasons. Trust me, even if the Vols don't want them, adidas will still make some authentic ones to present in such a situation as this. I don't know where it came from, and I don't know why that would even matter. When Bruce was asked about them, he said he didn't like them and didn't intend to use them. I don't think I'm disputing anything you've been saying.
