Travon Landry is coming. All reports indicate he is CCM's type PG. It is amazing how few true PG's are out there nowadays. The majority like putting up points. CCM seems like a guy who appreciates the total package and not just one guy averages 17ppg and the other averages 13ppg, so the 17ppg guy is better. I am really excited for hoops season.

Why can't the VOLS get a true point guard? It has been since CJ watson

Gotta work with what you have...

We're trying to develop Golden, he was very good last year, should be a top 3 PG in SEC this year.

CCM took a shot with washpun, didn't work out, bringing in Landry next year should be your prototypical "true pg"

Agree with this and I'd also say that true PGs are kinda like true Centers these days (at least at the high school and collegiate levels), they barely exist.

Not an encouraging report to me.
Post guys are calling for the ball and being left hanging, sounds an awful lot like last season.
I think we're going to see a lot of juggling in the back court, early season, until we find the guys that are going to attack the rim and dish to the post.

Our guards last season were content to throw up the bricks or turn the ball over rather than share 2 points on an assist.

If that doesn't change early it will be a disappointing season.

I think the definition of a "true pg" has changed from what it used to be. I look at it like if your point guard can manage the game limit turnovers, but also get you points when needed then that's a true pg to me.

Golden has improved a lot from where he started off. I think at times you need more than a pass first pg. Just depends on the system and competition around you.

calban Maymon and Hall barely played in Italy and neither did Golden and Stokes only played around 17 Mins a game. The bigs will get fed the rock. Don't worry about what Quinn said. Go vols

It's CCM biggest concern and is something they're working on all the time, good news is that he atleast realizes our stength, bad news is do the guards?

I will add, playing with a 24 second clock severely hampers your ability to get the ball into the post...playing now with a 35 should seem like an eternity to the guards and they should have no trouble getting in into the posts.

I doubt Hall will see the floor much this season.
Every indication is that Yemi will have a break out season with extended minutes as a back up.
