If i told you that in year 2 of Josh Heupel being the head coach of Tennessee, the team would be going into Bama week 5-0 with 3 wins against ranked opponents (2 of them being against Florida at home and LSU in Death Valley), and ranked #6 in the country, what would your reaction have been?

As much of an optimist that I am, I would have called anyone who told me that back then an extremely crazy person.

I’m proud for you. How high are gas prices going to go before the election? I’m thinking about selling the wife’s 4Runner but I don’t really want to.

A straight jacket and 4 padded walls would have been in your future had you told me that back then. Seriously this program has come so far and in such a short amount of time. The offense is an absolute machine, Tennessee football is a well coached, GREAT football team. Life is good. I forgot how fun it was to watch other college football games. When Tennessee was meh, I was disinterested in other games. I didn't want to watch other teams because it made me realize how far behind everyone we were and wishing we had a competent, competitive program. Now I love watching teams ranked higher hoping they slip up so my Vols move up a few spots in the polls. Its nice to have a team I'm proud of, now I watch other ranked teams and think to myself how bad Tennessee would beat them down if given the opportunity. What is really crazy, if Tennessee wins this week they have a path to the college football playoff regardless of the Georgia game. They would need alittle help if they drop Georgia but THE PLAYOFFS! TENNESSEE! Wild to think we are in this position in year 2.

I would have wondered when I was going to wake up because it was a heck of a dream

Hey...that's my birthday! Go Vols!!
I would have thought you needed some help. I'm so happy for this team. I would have never thought it. But, hey look what real coaching does. Doesn't matter what level, treat your players great, love them, coach them, put them in a position to succeed, and what do you have? A 5-0 team getting ready to put a nice butt-kicking on the tide this weekend. Go Vols! Keep scoring, don't punt, play a little D and send those nasty bammers back south with a nice big L. GBO!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you read OP’s post as Vol Knight didn’t predict 5-0.

Any way, Go Vols!

I didn’t see this coming. Things looked bleak two years ago. Plus, add the players who transferred along w the Pruitt/NCAA investigation. I would’ve said “ no way” but things have fallen in place so far.
