I've tried to remain optimistic about this team, but after the way we choked against Florida, I'm starting to lose hope. Here's to beating Vandy tomorrow and getting our groove back on the winning track!

Amen I hope you're right. If they want to go to NCAA's this year and short of winning the SEC tourney, this is a must win!

I think we are looking at a BAD Bad year. This team just looks lost and to honest very poorly coached. On offense they seam to stand around and wait for someone to drive to the basket, they harldy ever make the defense work by moving the ball around and cutting. Their shot selections are piss poor, come on work the ball inside every now and then.

I've come to the conclusion that this team probably won't make the tourney.....they seem lost

Unless both the half court offense and defense improves quickly, this is going to be a very bad season. I was somewhat surprised to hear that Pearl thought they played well against Florida. The offense was terrible, and the defense wasn't much better. Guess we are now happy with playing games close.

I wish they'd quit half court crap. What happened to all the fast breaks and not giving the opponent time to set up? You're gonna tell me guys like Jajuan, lofton, and ramar could stop any team dead in their tracks while our "all americans" can't even hit layups? When you get a fast break, don't stop! Keep driving the ball down their throats. We have some of the biggest guys in the country and they can't drive the ball on a bunch of little squirts from charleston or florida? C'mon man

Because that "controlled chaos" crap doesn't get you anywhere when it really counts, in March. It might get you a meaningless #1 ranking in February and a Sweet 16 exit, though.

With the half court offense this team plays, fast break points are about all they are going to get.

Vandy at TBA is a must win if the Vols have any hopes at making the tournament IMO. The offense, though sometimes stagnant and frustrating to watch, is actually effective when the players are shooting like a D1 team from outside. Tennessee is going to face a zone defense in every game for the remainder of the season, but zone is a secondary defense for most teams so it will be vulnerable. It is imperative that the guards drive and get 'a piece of the paint' in order to collapse these zones. I think Golden has the best potential to break down a zone from the guard spot. That, combined with good shooting from Scotty and Cam, and Brian's interior passing can be the recipe for a win tomorrow and in coming weeks.
