I don't know about this game. It concerns me. We have been looking so much at Fla and LSU and now we are looking at Ala. since they destroyed Fla. Richt is playing humble pie and talking about how great TN is and what a struggle it will be for his team in Neyland. I hope we have not taken this game for granted. We can't be lured into beleiving that we have gotten past the hardest part of our schedule or we could get caught with our pants down. GA is not Vanderbilt...heck, Vanderbilt is not Vanderbilt.

I don;t think we have looked past UGA in any form or fashion. This is by far the biggest game this year. The players just need to go out there and perform. If they make a mistake they CANNOT let it ge to them. They just need to put it behind them and focus on the rest of the game. I think we are ready, but its gonna take some big plays (by that I mean some quick sacks, an early pick... or even a deep ball), to really light that fire. If we can get that early... LOOKOUT!!!

GO VOLS!

We may not win, but I doubt we will look past GA. They are too good of a team for us to look past. Plus they are in the drivers seat in the SEC east right now.

I doubt that the team is looking past it. Some players on the team want to beat UGA at home before they leave. That and pay them back for the last time UGA came to Neyland.

the funny part about the driver's seat in the SEC east is that Vandy is sharing that seat with Ga. So I put no validity in that position right now.

lol, yeah I started to add vandy to that comment, but we all know they are not in the driver's seat. Vandy has no shot of winning the East.

I don't think the staff and players are looking down the road. We are not in a position to take anyone for granted. Although we have fans who look at other games way to early. I do not understand why people worry about games in the next 2,3, 4 or even 5 weeks down the road. The thing we have to be concerned with is UGA, period.
As far as UGA coach, I have a lot of respect for him and what he is trying to do with there program. He is smart, he learned from one of the best in the business. I can tell you this, it will be a chess match, and the smartest coaching staff will win the mind game. :aggressive:

I think that the fans not being focused on the Ga game has nothing to do with us winning. The TEAM needs to be focused on the game at hand (which I think that they are). The reason why fans worry about games down the road is becasue they need to plan on going to those games. And some fans don't plan on supporting a team that loses a few games. As stated before, all that matters is that the guys on the field are focused. I haven't heard anything to make me think that they are not ready.

I agree with your statement, but for the fans who don't stay with you win or lose, who needs them anyway. It's funny, I aways get a lot of phone calls for tickets to big games, but no one calls when we play Memphis or UNLV or Kentucky looking for tickets.

Amen to that. I am there rain or shine. I have been there when it is 110 degrees and when it is freezing cold. I will always use my tickets and will always give Vandy all the hell I can. I hope we are loud and proud this weekend. What I really miss was the stadium "rocking" because of everyone stomping. That is one of my favorite memories growing up.

Some of us live 1,000 miles away and can only make 1-2 games per year. What would you come back for, Kentucky or Georgia?

Hey Vol 4 Life, I did not mean for my statement to be directed at those fans who have to travel along way from Tennessee. I live in Middle Tennessee, and we have more bandwagon rider fans in this area than I can put up with. Back in 98, it's amazing how many Vol fans started showing up around hear. They want to brag when things are good, but you cannot find them when times are tuff. Keep going to Knoxville every chance you can Vol 4 Life, we need you. :eek:k:

If you live on the north side of Austin you might want to come to Dallas on game day. The Alumni group here gets the TV feed for ALL games. We have one couple that make it up here from Austin about half the time because the crowd here is the next best thing to being at Neyland. Check out Dallas Alumni.
If you have kids the place we meet is very kids friendly, even has a cry room for babies (formerly the projection room for the converted theatre we are in). BTW, we watch the game on a screen that is (I think) 15' X 12' and has the clarity of a 32". Group attendence this year has ranged from 40 (school night) to 165. We also have the room sound system so you also get the bands Rocky Top and Down the Field during the game.
It's not firm yet but, we may get Fulmer here on January 9 for a two hour session.

Come on up! You will have a great time!

And well you should: I can't remember the last time the Vols played a good game against a good opponent at home. There have been some pretty ugly Neyland performances in recent years.

Im gonna stick by my prediction and say that Clausen will either get hurt or just struggle and Ainge will play and win the game on Sat. Before the LSU game I told one of my friends that it would be a great story if Clausen came off the bench and won the game and boom he did just that. As crazy as this s*** sounds I believe that all that has happened will actually help him in the long run. I read on here that he has been staying late after practice and working with Randy Sanders. Hopefully he might have finally realized that he needs more than just his talent to be a great qb. People forget that he is still just a sophmore and didnt even play his whole freshman year. I think that what he has gone through has probably matured him, humbled him and he has lost some of that cockiness after seeing a player with far less ability win games with his command of the offense, decision making, fearlessness and intelligence. Im sure he is driven to regain the confidence of his teammates and coaches and if things dont go right for Clausen for whatever reason on Sat he has the chance to do just that.

When asked about the possibility of Erik Ainge playing this week, Fulmer said only, "Erik understands he's just one play away."
