well, I made it to regionals today in my worst event today. had a great time in the 4x800 and was coming around in the lead by a good 100 meters and pulled my hamstring with 20 meters to go. Didn't do any of the other races. My parents, coaches, grandparents, sisters, and brothers were all upset. But i made my team more upset by not being able to do my other three races. we lost district today by 1 freaking point. If i could have raced in any of my other races, we would have won. Now i have to get off and morn over this crap.

I actually ran some track events for a small youth group while at UT.

Got hammered the night before a meet.....well, safe to say....I didnt make it the entire way without cramps.

I was under the impression that high school track meets are a lot like swimming meets... it isn't about winning each particular, entire meet as a team, it's about qualifying people in each event for the bigger more important meets. Sheer size of some schools lead them to have more athletes when compared to other schools thus making the point system unfair for simply having more people to compete.

At any rate, sorry to hear about your injury. I've done it myself, so good luck in your recovery. Don't push it too hard.

U-T, that should teach you to get smashed before a sporting event.

It did...well, not really. The week before I had run 11 miles after blacking out the previous night....thought it would work again
