Is it just me??? But, it seems like an inordinate number of calls are going against UT. I know, it's usually the loser of games, especially close ones that gripe about the calls, but it sure seems like we keep getting called for pass interferencee that simply isn't there, especially the last two games (Bama and USC). Also, against USC, it seemed like our receivers got bumped before the ball got there and there was no call. Another bad call was the catch that Cottam made on the sideline that was called out of bounds. He clearly had one foot in after the catch. What gives???

Seems to me like a lot of bad calls are coming in the 1st half and stop big plays and/or kill likely scoring drives. You don't think there's enough money in commercial advertising to convince the refs to try and keep it close until at least half time in these nationally televisied games now do you?

We had an ESPN hates us and ESPN won the Heisman for Woodsen thread and now a refs. are making calls against us, we hit the hat trick today.

Refs are bad all over... A guy can make more money calling a HS game on Friday night and two or three rec games on Saturday than having to travel around and call an SEC game. There are some good refs but the bench is not deep.

The SEC officials have begun to rival the Pac as the worst in the country. That said, they are missing calls both ways, and it more than likely just seems worse for the Vols thanks to the kool-aid.

I rarely talk officiating, but it has been horrid this year. I cannot remember it ever being this poor nationwide.

Watch some of the other SEC Games. Same deal with the refs--it's not only our games.

As to the bottle throwing Sat night, the refs should have stopped the game and announced a warning and/or given SC a penalty.

That sets a real bad example to let that act go without official intervention. Gives the SEC a bad reputation.

The refs also need to have training days during the week. They are just not too sharp.

Actually they stopped the game they made a public announcment and escourted several fans out of the stadium early. Which is what generally happens prior to penalizing the home team.

Im wondering if the replays are causing the refs to not pay attention to play as much. It does seem the refs are missing many calls this year and not just against Tennessee.

Does anybody think about these topics before posting? We are the 3rd least penalized team in the SEC and 23rd least in the NCAA in terms of penalties called. In terms of yardage, we are 3rd and 18th, respectively. So, yes, the refs are definitely out to get us!
