For storming the field/court. It may be the stupidest thing to come outta Alabama since George Wallace “segregation now” show.

Of course, his basketball coach had to plead with their fans last night to stop throwing stuff on the floor during the game. Maybe that should have an automatic forfeit too!

It happens so rarely and, especially in football, turns into a big festive party that all the fans can enjoy. So it costs a little money. Alabama can easily afford it

I am not a proponent of what I'm about to say. I am a proponent of letting students and fans celebrate, including going onto a field or a court. It's a freaking sporting event, full of spontaneous emotion. Let people have fun and let people celebrate for goodness sake!

However, if they want to curb much of the storming the court, law makers and the courts could just levy hefty penalties if you are arrested. Maybe a fine of 2500.00 and 30 days in jail? Most people would not risk it, because if you're locked up for 30 days most people would lose their job and have major issues if in school. This is more of a law enforcement issue, than an NCAA/SEC playing sports fans police issue.

Again, I am not a proponent of what I just stated above. My point is, if they are serious about it, it would be a law enforcement type of issue.

I agree that the law should be involved with people storming the court

Forfeits? Alabama has to do anything they can to get out of the loss column. The AD must be in some kind of trouble to start coming up with ideas such as this.

I disagree with the the principle.

I do, however, agree with heightened consequences when the fans don't wait until the game is actually over. If an active game has to be paused to clear a bunch of idiots off the field, the visiting team gets a free TD. If that causes a change in the result: tough. Learn to read a clock.

What if the B*** players stay together and are escorted from the field/court after they’re defeated? Perhaps then, they wouldn’t linger and punch a female fan of the opposing team…

why not just introduce some system? Field storming will be "tolerated" as long as it happens 5 minutes after the clock hits triple zeros. gives the opposing team plenty of time to vacate, and doesn't outright ban the celebration.
