I saw in two different places where this was the loudest game ever recorded in Neyland. I’m pretty sure the article said it got up to 125 dB which shattered the Neyland Stadium record of 118 dB. The source was from TN Athletics so I’m taking it as being true. Fans were tweeting before the game that the noise level was sitting about 115 which is insaneI was at game- id say it was louder than 2016 and 2022 Florida but not 2015 Oklahoma for the most part.
The color guard is small this year but the band is pretty big. The stadium was just that loud.Very hard to hear the Pride of the Southland Marching Band, I realize their numbers are down from time to time, but with a sustained roar of cheering, clapping and cheering running in the background during the pregame and the game itself made the music very hard to hear. Halftime wasn't too bad, particularly when the band members would turn toward your seats.
I’d like to know where they are actually measuring the noise level for what they were displaying on the Jumbotron. A lot of variables at play. I also don’t think we’ve been tracking it that long (and it would need to be consistent to how they are measuring it now). I don’t recall seeing any readings from ‘15 OU which was definitely louder than the 118 set during OM last year.I saw in two different places where this was the loudest game ever recorded in Neyland.
