Bama game still special

2 weeks ago I read through maybe 10 or so pages of a thread on tidefans and probably 99% of posters absolutely love this rivalry and would be pissed if they lost it. Most said they'd rather lose the Auburn - Alabama rivalry than UT - Bama.

Here's the link if you're at all interested.
The End of the Tennessee Rivalry?

I would rather play Tenn every year than any other team. The matchup doesn't look like much of a rivalry today, but there's too much history in this series to ignore, and you watch what happens if/when Tenn gets lucky and beats us. I'm happy CNS understands this and supports continuation of the series.

It has always been a streaky series. It would be a travesty to lose the annual game. To me no game better symbolizes college football.

Streaks lead people to suggest "is this even a rivalry anymore?" but eventually the streak ends and everyone remembers why the series matters.

From the link above. There's many more like it; Bama enjoys this rivalry just as much as most of us do.

I grew up in Alabama....I know I know...and as much crap as I take for going to UT from all my friends down there, I would hate not to have that game every year. It's tradition.

Now, the hate week posts on Facebook are a bit much.
