I don't like Bama either, but calling a kid blowing his knee "Good news" is about as lame as it gets.

Hope it's not as serious as it sounds.

I live in Alabama, and kinda keep up with them. This is going to be kinda like Riggs getting hurt last year, cause the guy that takes his place is probably going to be better. Jimmy Johns is supposed to be very good.

Tough news for Bama; let's all wish Darby the best -- maybe it will be only a minor injury. Even with another good RB in the "on-deck circle," we all know that you can never have too many for an SEC season.

Good news.....for Bama.....he's fine. Only a bruise. Now they are saying hyperexstension. He isn't expected to miss a practice. Whew.

That must be a huge relief for Bama...and Darby. Darby is a great runner with NFL potential. Not only would that have been a blow to Bama this year but could have been the difference if he played on Sundays or not.

But with that said GO VOLS!!!

Yeah it could have ended his career. I think he will do great at the next level. I can't wait to see him this year behind an improved line.

Not to switch gears or take anything from Darby, you've got an improved O-Line and a good to go Darby, how is the feeling at QB w/o Croyle?

Love your picture GT.

While I know this is could get me thrown off this board as a heretic, I don't dislike Bama... and I love, at least temporarily, any team that beats UF.

Well, I am optimistic about JPW. He will be better than Croyle no doubt. He did throw 4 pics the other day though, couple were BS plays though. He is looking good so far. I think if we pluck off 8 wins this year I would be pleased.

Btw, about the Av, I actually have a real good friend that I took with me to that game. He was a Gator, and he looked like someone shot his dog, while having sex with his GF. LMAO

I agree JPW will end up better than Croyle. If JPW performs even a litttttle less than Croyle, but he remains healthy, he'll be better for Alabama in the long term. I think 2006 with be his toughest season, but the entire SEC will see a future draft pick either in 2008 or 2009.

Doesn't Croyle hold most of the passing records at Bama? I think he could he was a pretty good QB, and could have been great if he'd had a decent O-line and better wide receivers. Prothro was awesome, but after he went down, it seemed like DJ Hall was all that was left. I could be wrong, but it seems like a very bold prediction to tout this guy as being superior to Croyle.

It's a strong prediction for sure, but not quite bold, IMO. Croyle is Alabama's all team leading passer, as you noted. We'll never know Croyle's full potential, because the Bama OL stunk at pass protection last season. They were VERY good in 2004, but Croyle was injured after 3 games.

Luckily for Wilson, the OL in 2006 should be very good once again, with 4 starters returning. We'll find out in 2007 and 2008 what kind of QB Wilson is.

How old is this kid? I guess he wasn't around when Pennington started in 2004? Surely if he was any good, he could have beaten out that jabroni. Honestly, I think they would have had a better shot with Prothro at QB.
