Bama Secondary Violations

Not secondary violations! We might as well shut the program down!

Thats the one thing I defended Kiffin about. Every school has loads of secondarys. But folks around here thought we would get the death penalty had he stayed. I pointed to Bamas secondarys and folks treated it differently because of Sabans success. I was like when do you think Nick started cimmittibg secondarys? At Michigan State oe LSU or Bama? Easy answer MSU. He did what he had to do get the players.

Kiffin was a bit more open as far as broadcasting his secondaries. He also was dumb enough to accuse Urban Meyer of a violation (that wasn't a violation) days before his list of secondaries came out.

Spurrier did the same thing to Kiffin. He said Kiffin hadn't passed some test required by the NCAA to go on the road and recruit. Kiffin got blasted for the Urban accusation but Spurrier got celebrated for the same thing. Media blew it off as Spurrier just being Spurrier.

He had to be open. The media broadcast them as headline news. And thing on Urban was just him running his mouth trying to be funny.

No, he was a dumbass and challenged Slive by being a snotty brat when he received notice of his violations. Also lost a good recruit because of one of his violations.

Kiffen was not my favorite coach ever and really wasn't my favorite after the way he left, but I think he was open about the violations to get Tennessee in the media and try to "help" recruiting. Try and get people to start talking about Tennesee nationally again. Not saying it helped or hurt, but JMO.

Football-wise, four self-reported secondary violations of this nature is nothing. I'm sure NCAA will wag their finger very sternly.

I quite disappointed that it was only four. Do we not take football seriously, anymore?

I thought I had read that 11 of those were text message related stuff (during dead periods, etc)

Yeah but you are seeing the other side of Bama not being able to count how many they committed. Not just over counting national championships but under counting secondary violations.

I will agree with you on this, every school has sh$tloads of violations every year. No telling what other SEC schools had. GA had alot a few yrs back i believe. No telling what Auburn, USC, Oregon and Tosu has under Meyer. Hell theres no telling how many Saban had that wasnt reported or caught. He is one of those that will push the envelope just like AU and USC.

Lol..Isnt that the truth. When it comes to crooked a$$ states Ala has it locked down with Ala, AU and even Troy and UNA( North Ala) should be thrown in there. Not sure another State has more times being put on probation or years on it. One school doesnt win 14 NC ( by UAT math) because they are doing it the right way and by the book.

Been interested to see if you were one of the posters crying foul when Lane train racked up some secondary violations.

Couple that with Bama's history of cheating and creating unfair advantages, I would say it is worth noting that the envelope is being pushed again.
