Just curious if anyone has any thoughts or insights to Bama and UGA recruiting? Both are historically low for this time of year for no apparent reason when they are usually towards the top 5 from start to finish. My suspicious self says they are shifting stratgegy towards more silent commits, not signing any borderline folks, or consciously waiting longer, where maybe have to take smaller classes? Just seems too much coincidence that both saban and his protege are way off the charts. We know both will not be lacking with their classes...but could also be flaws or lack of connectivity with recruits that we don't know about, which isn't likely, or increased difficulty with top guys because of new stronger competition outside the conference (Clem, Mich, Ohio St, etc). Regardless, I like Vols current foundation for this cycle. Go Vols!

UGA could be a wait and see what happens this year situation.

When Bama has a really off year recruiting (what they actually sign) let everyone know. It's been a long time.

UGA can't afford to wait and see too long. Most of their top instate players have committed elsewhere.

Bama will end up high no matter what. no clue about his recruiting strategy. new offensive coach may be a part (at most 1/2) of it. idk.

Georgia, is more interesting imo. I think they will end up with a decent class, but not great. 10-15 imo. The reason being that a lot of the top in state talent is already elsewhere. sure they will flip a couple but I think a lot of the top talent is settled. as to why they are struggling now, again jmo. but a rough first year, some of the shine rubbing off the star. also except for OL I don't think they have a lot of playing time to sell. Pittman should have guys lined up to play for him. There are still 16 4 star players in GA uncommitted anywhere. and thats with guys like Jaycee Horn and Lyn Dixon being possibly underrated as 3*

Supposedly Saban is taking a smaller class this year and being very particular about who gets to commit. I've no doubt Bama will be fine once NSD arrives although I hope otherwise.haha Part of UGA's problem may be Clemson, could be something to keep an eye on.

Saban will be in the top 3 on NSD, probably number 1. UGA will probably sign anothef top 5 class.

Georgia people are 2nd only to Florida in regards to a lack of loyalty to their home state...Alabama commits are waiting for their checks to clear

I can certainly be proven wrong - but I honestly believe that Alabama will be having a down year recruiting. One of the worst in the last 7 years or so.

Georgia on the other hand will likely have an extremely strong rebound and have a very good class.

All of this is driven off of crystal ball projections on 247. Don't know if 247 is based in Georgia - but they sure project a lot of kids leaning towards Ga. very few to Ala.

Perhaps Ga has made inroads in some of Ala's traditional recruiting grounds.

They are low on commits at this point but they do not take the knee jerk approach and fill up their rosters with 8to10 3 stars just to have long commitment list. They will both finish top 10 especially if uga wins atleast 9 games
