Bama has been up awhile, so I'm sure we've all seen the mass revival of bama attire at your local walmart and dollar general stores but recently I've noticed a lot of people are suddenly Notre Dame fans and have Notre Dame license plates, flags, etc. Is it the same group of people that go around buying team gear for whoever is up? Or are there luke warm fans for every team we just don't know about?

I for one have had my UT license plate (front and back) for 10 years now - and I'm 26. So as long as I've been able to drive. When I was 5 I begun receiving UT apparel and whatnot to decorate my room with. I don't care if we go 0-12, I will sport UT with pride. Did we have a buncha bandwagon fans in the '90s? I was too young to really differentiate between real fans and @ssholes.

I dont really remember if there was a lot of bandwagon fans or not. seems like there always is whenever some team is doing well. The fascination with ND though seems worse. I would almost be willing to bet most of the people have no idea where the campus even is. I used to live about half hour from ND.... I have been to the campus but I still not a ND fan.

LOL. Bama gear at Wal Mart and Dollar General Stores. At least they know their target market.

Most are Catholic. They dont care except when ND is good

This. It's something I just don't understand either. My in laws root for ND behind UT and WKU (where they and their daughters went) and have even been to a game or two up there, for no reason other than they're catholic. I don't have this sheepish, underlying allegiance to Baylor just because they're a Southen Baptist affiliated university.

Speaking of Catholics, have you been to the new Liquor barn here in BG yet?

I guess that qualifies my wife then because she became a UT fan when Peyton Manning was there. The only difference is she is STILL supporting them when bandwagon jumpers would have jumped off years ago. Don't call me one though because I just recently started liking UT only because she was a fan and UT DEFINETLY doesn't have any bandwagon jumpers now.

I've known a lot of ND fans over the years. Non of them were poor alcoholics either.

Bandwagon Bama fans are much more obnoxious. If you pull for the Tide and are a fan of any other SEC school, you are an a-hole. I will never pull for them. Ever.

I'm an official Notre Dame bandwagoner...For one day!...Go Irish!...Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame,
Wake up the echoes cheering her name,
Send a volley cheer on high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky.
