Not even Jon Gruden was going to win over 8 games next year. Jones has the possibility to win 5-6 games, especially after all our stars jump ship.

Ship has been sinking for 4+ years now... its not that I won't be a fan, but I'm not going to have any passion. This hire has done nothing but divide the fan base in the moment we needed it to be united. The current players most likely will not stay, some transfer and some draft... not sure how good of a recruiter he is, but he has no ties to the south. My point is, Jones is an "up and comer", but this is a gamble, and UT does not need a gamble at this fragile state.

We, as a university, have had this coming, we had some of the best coaches that bled Orange, cared about the university and still do even after both of them were fired... Majors and Fulmer-types aren't around any more and that's exactly what we need, someone with ties... unfortunately this is what we get.

I understand, i've been all vol for 30 year's. I couldn't agree more we have guy's from florida and bama running the show it suck's, but i'm still a vol fan period. I'm not gonna go pull for vandy, or ky because they hired jone's like some are saying. Some might want to sit for this one, but there are more important thing's in life than football. I love ut sport's, but who they hire will not 'ruin' my life like some sad peopke around here.

People aren't pissed off because they're 100% sure Jones is a bad coach and won't win (though I'm at about 98%). That's beside the point. The point is that UT's football commitment is such that with the most critical hire we've had in decades, they go out and hire Butch effing Jones. People are mad because the UTAD just showed that they don't really even care.

Don't think for a second that "we couldn't do any better" because "UT just isn't a good job." It was a complete and utter failure on the part of the athletic department.

No matter what you say you will watch the game on tv. Now I for one will not be making the six hour drive to see them play anymore until I have a reason to believe I might leave neyland happy for once. I'll support him too. Everyone is pissed. But it won't be hard to win the fan base. It will really only take one key win next year . Beat Florida Georgia or bama. Then they will love him. But I won't be at the game until I see one of these wins.

I agree, except on the seeing the game's in person, ticket's will still be more affordable for a while!
