Once all of this over and the NCAA comes down with whatever penalty they decide on a few good things are going to happen.

We are still going to play basketball games.

We are still going to have good players.

We are still going to have a team that has the experience of going all the way to the elite eight last season.

We are still going to have a coaching staff completely dedicated to making amends for all they have done wrong.

We are still going to have one of the best atmospheres at basketball games in all the SEC.

**Can't wait to get this thing going**

BBQ gate,

3 kids who are committed want to be a part of the "family" bbq but they are not allowed. They come anyway and are part of the group of 50 people.

After TN beats Ohio State in the NCAA's Matta and his assistants get Aaron Craft to turn Pearl in for the awesome competitive advantage of a BBQ dinner that worked so well that Craft went to play for the suckeyes and Selby went to Kansas...

Pearl lies about it. Before the NCAA proves he lied, he admits he did.

Mike Hamilton does lots of research and decides to take the unprecedented step of punishing Pearl by taking away 25% of his pay. He also bans he and the staff from lots of on campus recruiting.

Somehow this major punishment is viewed as nothing by some on the board who seem to think that Bruce should be publicly flogged or burned.

Lots of people cry, people say that TN gets a postseason ban.

Then the NCAA comes out and does little to TN. Dana O'Neill rips the NCAA, and then forgets all about this because facts come out that make Bruce Pearl's transgressions look like the speeding tickets in the group of hardened rapist criminals that is NCAA basketball and its work with AAU coaches, shoe agents etc.

I laugh and laugh and laugh at the group of 5 or so posters on here who have such a completely incorrect take.

Right. And the other 10,000 members on here that ridicule virtually every post you make on every forum will continue laughing at you.

Do you really believe that the NCAA didn't immediately know that Pearl lied when he couldn't recognize his home or the wife of his 10 year assistant coach? Are you really that niave or just incredibally stupid? That loud roar you hear is the overwhelming majority of posters on here laughing at you. Why don't you use some good judgement and join in by laughing at yourself.

Good points, good post MHF.

However, I do disagree that the NCAA couldn't prove he had lied before he admitted it. Its all gravy (Dooleyism) anyway though, because he made the correct PR move and got out ahead of the story and made a very public and personal apology.

I'm a little confused why MH didn't disclose this letter of termination all together with the rest of everything back in September but I'm sure he was getting the advice of a room full of compliance people that are far more educated on the subject than us.

Thanks Go Big Orange.

This is the nadir. We will be pretty happy this December when the letter is done. Really happy in March for lots of reasons.

Yeah, just let the negative keep coming out piece by piece so this horror story continues to make such positive press for our program.

That's right MHF, I obvioulsy don't know how to spell. Glad I did so, since you can make no other response to the post.

Ding, ding, ding -- this is the correct answer. Guess I am not as "in the know" as most regulars on this board --because this added some insight that I didn't have.

For that a tip of the hat to the mod.

Heads up --When incredibally is underlined in red -- that's an indicator.

Why don't you enlighten me Albert - what then was the nature of the gathering -- how long did the uninvited prospects stay -- who else was among the 50 or so gathered. It would appear that you have way more information regarding the specifics of this violation than I do. Please share. From what I understand -- you are very informed on the subject.

Most of you are trying to brush this off as not being a big deal. Well, I'm pissed that I was not invited to the BBQ :disappointed:
