Just wanted to put a plug in for the Barber Motorsports Track in Birmingham.

Barber Motorsports

This place is a state-of-the-art road course. It has been described as the finest road course in North America (this includes Laguna Seca, Infineon, Watkins Glen, Road America, Limerock, Mid-Ohio, etc.) The museum is the largest collection of motorcycles in North America and possibly in the world.

The big races they have there so far have been AMA Superbike and Rolex Series (sports cars including Daytona Prototypes). They have an excellent shot a securing a MotoGP event - the biggest motorcycle series in the world. At the last AMA event, spectators were there from 49 states and at least a dozen countries. This place is gaining a huge reputation. The developer's goal was to create the "Augusta" of motor racing.

The Rolex Series races were this weekend. Three days of great racing including the WKA - World Carting Association - gokarts hitting 140mph plus.

The Porsche Driving School is there and they have events year round including Historic Racing Society. If you are into cars or bikes, this is the place to be.

Oh yeah, I got to do a few laps in my car last weekend - it was AWESOME!

Id love to load up and go. I try to get in track days with my CBR, But have only rode VIR. It would be sick' to ride Barber.
As a fan of US AMA Superbike its a first class venue.

Barbers Motorsports is Awesome. I'm not a race fan (well, wasn't) but this place is first class. I've seen motorcycle and Indy type car races and enjoyed the heck out of it.

You should check the event calendar. There are plenty of org.s (e.g. WERA regional and national) that race or get track time.

The museum alone would be worth the trip. They have a vintage motorcycle event coming up in October.

I'm going out in October for a BMW club sponsored driver's education event. Should get quite a bit of track time - looks like I'll need to buy some new tires.

That's part of it. The collection is about 700 - 800 bikes.

Word has it that many of them will be out on the track for the Vintage event coming up in Oct.
