Barn vs Gumps

This is anecdotal, but the single biggest difference between those fanbases seems to be that a much higher % of Auburn fans actually attended or graduated from their school. I know a lot of Auburn and Alabama fans - almost all of the Auburn fans I know are alums or attended Auburn. Very few of the Alabama fans I know (in fact, I can think of just one) are alums.

My guess is that in coming years, a much higher % of Alabama's fanbase will have actually attended or graduated from Alabama. People from all over the country want to go to school there now.

Alabama already has a higher % of out-of-state students than in-state.
And it's been that way for many years now. My wife was involved in recruiting efforts for her previous employer when she lived in Birmingham. In the 2012-13 timeframe, something like 60% of UA's incoming freshman class was from out-of-state.

If you can't get in a good school, .......

Alabama gas chamber... Apologies, off topic (kind of.. Both Barners and Gumps in this same wretched state though). Came across this and had to share.

Part of that is because bama offers ridiculous amounts of scholarship dollars. I have two cousins there now, one from Michigan & one from Memphis, because they couldn't afford not to attend. Neither wanted to go to bama, but went because of the financial windfall.

The only difference between Auburn and Alabama fans is one says War Eagle and the other says Roll Tide.

That’s from their football success marketing the university, but it also tells you how dumb Alabama people are, I guess. UA is easy to get into. I guarantee when they graduate, most of these people gtfo of that state. Many go to Nashville.
