At this point, I fully expect Saban to come in and take these top notch recruits out of the Volunteer state next NSD. I know the Vols have historically taken a handful out of AL, but is anyone uneasy with the idea of Bama going back to plucking TN talent on a regular basis? Losing all of these kids to Bama would not be a good omen. I'm just saying, CPF needs to defend the borders.

I have no clue who he is but Donte Hightower sounds like a bad ass. Just his name alone. We need that kid.

A 3 star LB in a town that is very close to Alabama. Eh...If Alabama gets him I won't lose any sleep knowing Chris Donald and Rico McCoy will be manning the defense.

Tennessee might have bigger fish on the line.

Jordan may go to Bama, but he is stubborn about being a RB. Our coaches won't lie to him and tell him he will be guaranteed that. Saban will. I think Clemson may land him anyways. Jones grew up a Bama dynasty and has a good friend that is almost a Bama lock(Tyler Love). I think we get Hightower if we push for him. If they pull David Spurlock from us, that is a big deal.

I would like to get Spurlock as well. I think he is underrated and plays with some nastiness. Tough guy.

I think Bailey could be the best of the 3(don't know much about Hurst, though he sounds like he could be great), but he is raw. Jones has great quickness. Spurlock is nasty.

I just hope we can lock down the instate guys, because you know Saban's licking his chops

I hate the term "instate" when dealing with kids from Memphis. These kids are hours away from Knoxville and alot aren't UT fans. Jones is just as close to Bama as Knoxville and has grown up a Bama product. Bailey and Spurlock are different. Some Memphis kids are UT fans, that is a different story.

Alabama is his top school. Hooker is an idiot. Jones's dad is a Bama grad and one of his good friends(Tyler Love, 5* OT) is a Bama lock.

Jones is a similar case to Berry last year. Although, it is turned around to Alabama's advantage.

I know some of Barrett's kinfolks here in Alabama and they hope he will attend UA, but his parents are apparently going to let the kid decide, which means that growing up a Bama fan, he will likely go to UA, though they are also friends to the agent Jimmy Sexton who is a UT grad and UT fan (but also Saban's agent as well as Fulmer's).

All in all, agree with HV, would be a longshot if he goes to UT. We will be OK with or without him.

Looking back on it, I can think we can safely say that this was probably the worst trifecta of losing in-state talent in a single recruiting class in recent history.

Anyone with a brain knew Hightower is a beast.
Secondly, the staff wasn't that high on Donald. Now, that is the old staff saying this in hindsight so what the real story is here is debatable.

Lastly, I thought Hightower would be a Vol. I was dead wrong. I wanted this kid bad. Unfortunately, Saban and staff wanted him more than our staff did.
