July 18, 2006 · Bud Selig tells USA Today he believes Major League Baseball has the right to suspend Barry Bonds if he is indicted by a grand jury. According to published reports, Bonds may be indicted this week on perjury charges for allegedly lying about steroid use and for tax evasion as well. Selig says there's precedent for suspending a player who has been charged

If Selig tries to suspend Bonds, the MLBPA will eviscerate him.

As well they should. I think he juiced; I don't buy his story for a minute; and I think there's a good chance he fell into a perjury trap . . . but the idea that MLB might suspend Bonds before he's found guilty of anything is preposterous IMO.

If MLB isn't suspending Brett Meyers for smacking his wife in front of witnesses on a Boston street corner, they are going to look like bona fide idiots for suspending Barry Bonds for just being indicted.

i don't buy his story that he isn't juiced either, just like how Ben Roethlisburger forgot his helmet on accident is the reason why he wasn't wearing a helmet.

I know Bonds has made mistakes, and I think he's arrogant, and I don't really care for him, but I kind of feel like a witch hunt is on now.

Good grief. There is no excuse for that, especially when you are that rich. That's ridiculous (if true).
