Pearl does have a scholarship to give. I think we are still looking at Ramar Smith.

Two words: Wade Parsons. We are beyond giving local guys scholarships on the hope they'll be good. We are into recruiting guys that are as close to sure things as you can get.

I think so. I believe he played with a mid-state team in the AAU 17 and under this summer. He can probably play in the Sun Belt. I wouldn't personally recommend him to anyone in the SEC. Nice player, he's not going to win you anything at the high major level.

You obviously havent seen him play he is an outstanding athlete and can flat out shoot from anywhere he will be an amazing player for years to come.

Then apparently every major college coach in America has also been denied the opportunity to watch this future NBA Hall of Famer. I went back and confirmed that he did play for the Mid State Ballerz in the AAU under 17. I stand by my earlier assessment of his abilities.

I'd much rather have Ramar Smith but that's pretty obvious. If he were good enough to play in the SEC he would be on the radar. Guess he's not good enough.

well Mississippi State wants him pretty bad and last time i checked they were in the SEC so know your facts before you start downing players

Given the mess Stansbury has made of his roster, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement.

He is a very thin and is a kid that has improved vastly over the last two years. Those are the biggest reasons for his lack of recruiting. As for his potential, I think he could be a good player at the SEC level. His skill set is already at the SEC level. His stoke and his shot selection are amazing. He is a great shooter who rarely misses if he gets off a good look. At 6-2 he is right there at the borderline of size for an SEC 2-guard. His weight and strength, right now, are below the borderline. He will certainly need to hit the weight room hard. But, that is something he can do. I like his head for the game. Very smart player. He doesn't have the athletic ability of Ramar Smith, probably not even all that close in that department. But, he is a better shooter and has a better head for the game. I don't know if he flourishes in transition enough to fit perfectly into Pearl's system. Wherever he ends up I hope he becomes a great player. MTSU offered and he didn't jump on it so that should show you there are other options bigger than MTSU available.

i think he just hasnt had enough publicity. nobody ever really thinks of tennessee as a basketball state, but now that he is mr basketball hopefully it will get people to notice him. if this guy trains in the waitroom then he is set. barry is one of the smartest basketball players i have had the pleasure of watching. he hit 3 game saving foul shots in a row with no time on the clock to tie up the state championship game. he can shoot from anywhere he wants and is a good ball handler. he is going to make a lucky college team VERY happy.

Miss. State actually hasn't offered, but Stewarts coach said Miss. State coaches were at all 3 State Tourney games and he thinks they are very close to offereing. MTSU, Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky, East Carolina, Lipscomb are the schools that have offered.

As for Twilley, right now he is still one point shy on his ACT. So, he might be going Prep or JC. But, as of right now he has offers from ETSU, UTC, and Arkansas State. Purdue has watched him play and they are interested (no offer yet). And, surprisingly Tennessee has asked him to be an invited walk-on. Similar to the J. Smith situation. I am surprised they asked Twilley and not Stewart. But, I suspect it is because Stewart has more options and so it would not be likely for him to walk-on and they knew that.
