Bart Gordon retiring.

I guess I could have given you all a little background here, this guy has been in the house for a long time and has been a democrat lock, but within the last few months he is seeing signs that he would have been voted out in 2010. If he thought he would get reelected no way would he have retired. The dems are in trouble in 2010 and they know it.

Possibly, he's 60 and his mother is 83 and ailing. He also has an 8 year old child he wants to look afer because his wife has a very busy career. Officially, he wanted to take care of his child and his mother. He's been in office for 29 years, retirement doesn't seem that far fetched to me.

On a sidenote he's the fastest man in Washington, beating other congressmen half his age.

Or maybe when he said he thinks his shelf live in this seat has about expired and the district is becoming more difficult to win could be and probably are the reasons he is quiting.

Sure but they won't have that power after 2010 and he knows it. He knows he was done and would have been voted out of office.

If he held onto his seat during the nineties and the first part of this decade when the Republicans had control of both the house and senate I think he could of held onto his seat in the 2010 elections.

Lincoln Davis announced today that remors he wasn't running again were not true, he said he plans to run for reelection.

He jumped to get off the agriculture committee, he learned that rural people don't like the damned democrat agenda one iota.

I meant to chair a committee:

Gordon is the only member of Tennessee's congressional delegation to currently hold a committee chairmanship. He is also a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Gordon was first elected in 1984, when Al Gore Jr. left his seat to run for the Senate. Gordon has staked out a solid position in Washington on science and technology issues.

Democrats are going to lose a ton of seats in the house and lose their super majority in the senate.

The dem Pres has the lowest approval rating for his amount of time in office in American history, at least since polls have been taken.
I think some knuckleheads finally figured out what a grave mistake they made. Too bad they couldn't figure it out to begin with. The lights, camera, action of the Barackstar blinded them all. Now we all have to live with this clown for three more years. Good thing he'll be basically a lame duck president after 2010 elections.

Damage has already been done, why do you think everything but the troop surge in the middle east has been "vital," they knew these were going to be unpopular votes and wanted to push it all through while they still had the super majority. All they really have left to permanently damage the country is Cap and Trade and that should take them nothing at all to get done before the end of next year.

it doesn't matter how many seats they lose. when healtcare is passed the country is over. even if republicans win both houses and the presidency, they will not overturn this horrid bill. America the free is dead.

His district is stretched more than a limo, which is the only thing keeping him in. I'm in his district, and am determined to fire him this coming election. We'll see how that goes, usually Franklin votes to keep him and cancels out all of us rural voters.

We need you all to pull that off, we have chased Gordon out and probably going to put in a R. We need you all to send him back home also.
