Anyone else excited about the home-opener today? Can Tennessee make it five in a row?

Daniel Vasquez is making his first collegiate start for the Vols

Freshman left-hander Cam Alldred will pitch for the Bearcats. I checked his bio on the Cincy website. He's 6-3, 200 pounds and it appears he was a pretty good athlete in high school.

Ohio Division IV Player of the Year (2015) ... two time All-Ohio (2014, 2015) ... two time conference Player of the Year (2014, 2015) ... led the city with 15 doubles (2015) ... tossed 86 strikeouts in 57 innings pitched for a 0.37 ERA (2015) ... also conference Player of the Year in basketball and an All-Conference performer in football.

He's only appeared in one game this year. He gave up four walks and one earned run in .2 innings against LSU before getting pulled.

The Bearcats are 0-6 overall but they've played four games against SEC opponents and were competitive in every game but one. They took both LSU and Georgia to extra innings.

LSU 6-5 (12) L
LSU 4-0 L
LSU 12-4 L
W. Kentucky 5-2 L
Georgia 7-6 (10) L
S. Alabama 3-2 L

Cincinnati was 15-41 last year and has 29 underclassmen on its roster, with only three seniors. Tennessee leads the all-time series 16-5 and won 7-0 last year in Knoxville.

Tennessee leads the SEC with a .359 batting average.

Oh yeah, and it's $1 hot dogs and $1 beverages all game at Lindsey Nelson. :)

Heck yeah Freak, I'm excited. But for me all you have to do is mention the Vols and baseball in the same sentence...:)
Don't know whether it's because I haven't showered yet, but there's magic in the air...:pepper:

GO BIG ORANGE!

7 SEC games today on the SECN+ and of course we aren't one of them.

Just checked, we are the only SEC school that hasn't had a game on at least SECN+ yet.
