This is going to be a telling series to see if the team is going to roll over or keep battling I knew last year after Bill Mosiello jumped ship that something was off about the program. He was promising big time hitting recruits that they would have a chance to come in and flash power but Serrano likes to play tiny ball (it's past the point of small ball). He better get some of the few guys left in the recruiting class that can make an immediate impact on the bases and out of the pen.

Thoughts about your comment regarding Mo's desire of bringing power bats to UT, it could have been that in the era of the BBCOR bat and high seam ball CDS wanted to play small ball. Fast forward to today's game, now with the flat seam ball, Mo's power hitting bats sure would be welcomed.

Even the BBC bats aren't gonna hold back true power hitters and I guys that hit for a high slugging percentage. Those are the guys MO wanted to bring in but had his hands tied by style of play so that's why he jumped ship. Trust me him and his family LOVED it here. This staff has really dropped the ball in recruiting especially in the state of TN. Catholic HS has a catcher going to UK that is better than any on UTs roster now. I can name pitchers from the last two years for days that they have missed on in this area that are doing good things for other good D1 programs.

Yes and in 2014 we lost ground on a lot of recruits that MO was sitting pretty with.

Our class rankings have gone up since the hiring of Thomas. As for missing on Tennessee kids or needing more of them...We signed one and Candy signed two and the rest of the SEC signed four...seven true frosh. Seems that SEC coaches and several of the neighboring ACC schools evaluate the talent in Tennessee differently than you.

Class ranking don't mean anything when they don't perform well or project well to draft, yes they may be great high school players but when they face sec pitching every night they can't hit. That's why out power numbers are horrible. We recruit guys that push it all over the field outside of NS and CS. All of the true hitters go to places they can have free reign to swing at. And the local issue is that this staff isn't bringing in the big time hitters and throwers from else where and they are letting kids go that are better than what they have. 1. Brett Martin wanted to come to Ut, nope went to WSCC got drafted 5throind. 2. Will Crowe liked UT, called him Trevor Crowe in his visit invite. 3. Cole kottam C going to UK never got a look from UT. blake stansberry freshman go to reliever at MTSU, never got a call from UT. I can go on forever. If you're not gonna have a juco pipeline to go to at least get guys who can be productive for you. They aren't doing that. No big time prospects want to come play for a school that bunts their 3 and 4 hitters and gets runners picked off bases by the handful.

It's Wil Crowe...my understanding of his situation is different.
I do not know much about the others except the kid Kole Cottam, my nephew was on the team the previous two years. Super happy for him.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the rest, we obviously have some big time prospects committed, whether we will get them all to campus is doubtful, but that' s a much better situation to be in then where the program was in years one and two.
