Through 6 innings, the score was 3-1 with their only run coming in the 6th on a walk(only baserunner Deunta Heath allowed), a steal, and 2 groundouts. Once the 7th came around, Hardin was put in to pitch, gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and 3 errors, not to mention a walk or two. Cobb has been called in to stop the bleeding with 1 out and men on 2nd and 3rd.

And the first batter Cobb faces singles in the go-ahead run. UT down 4-3. Siena still batting with men on the corners and 1 out.

And another hit, the score is 8-3. 7 runs have been scored in this inning on 6 hits, 3 errors, and 2 walks. Delmonico really screwed the pooch when he pulled Heath out.

I don't know if Heath was on a strict pitch count or what, but I hope they had some good reason for pulling him. He didn't seem to be struggling since he only gave up one runner through six innings. My guess is that Cobb wasn't ready but was forced into the game because of Hardin's ineffectiveness.

The Vols have came back to tie it in the bottom of the 8th led by a 3 rbi triple from Borbon and an rbi single from Arencibia.

Well, I suppose you haven't followed the thread. They gave up 7 runs in the 7th after only giving up 1 run and one baserunner at that through the first 6 innings. I'd call that falling apart. If it wasn't for a 5 run 8th, they'd be dead in the water.

wow that was crazy. still that was almost a disaster. nice to see the vols can score runs when needed though. thats a good sign. given up 9 runs??? not so much.

Thanks for the post. Some people seem to get off on flooding the board with sarcastic remarks.Probably not even UT fans.

Good comeback... I wouldn't be too concerned about how many they gave up today, just an off day.

Excellent. If you remember last year, these midweek scrub games (I assume Siena is a scrub team) gave us a fit last year.
