Why is Tennessee the only major SEC school that seems to actively not try to schedule spring scrimmage and a home baseball series the same weekend?

I used to believe it was bad luck. But now I believe it's intentional.

The spring game, a baseball game, a softball game, the Sea Ray Relays, and a big tennis match should be a pretty enticing weekend for the athletic department to plan for. Mississippi State, Alabama, and others seem to make it happen yearly

Didn't they used to schedule a baseball game after the Orange and White Game? I guess it has been a while though.

I can remember walking over to Lindsey Nelson after the football scrimmage. Like you, I kinda like the idea of having both on the same day.

The Old Dogwood Relays was often the same day as well.

Personally, I hate the Orange & White game as it is dreadfully boring. However, usually those going to the game were often allowed to attend baseball game for free and it would be a huge boisterous crowd.

Just don't understand why you would not want a huge all sports weekend for casual fans and alumni on av warm spring day in April

I'm with you, they should have waited another week. Basevols playing Vandy at home 3 game stand and the softball team host OU that weekend too.

I've been asking this for a few years now. It seems that we have an athletic department that doesn't understand marketing.

Mississippi State has been doing "Super Bulldog Weekend" for years.

Rained out events are not that exciting. Seems we get a lot of rain this time of year may be the reason.
