Is absolutely ripping this team for how pathetic the effort was from Saturday's game.

Jordan Howell had some very strong words for this team as well.

Good, this team is not very good. They are talented, yes, but not good. It seems like they have no pulse out there. The only guy that plays with any heart is Tatum.

It's one thing to play bad. The thing I was disapointed in was the effort and focus we've shown for the majority of the season. Bruce's inability to hold anyone accountable for this team's actions haven't helped either.

No Point Guard play at all. It killed us last year & will this year. Obviously tried to cure it by going the JUCO route to no avail.

The previous caller brought up a great point in saying that Tanning Bed has always chose style over substance.

Summed up the Tanning Bed Era perfectly.

I gave him credit.

I was talking about "tanning bed" moniker.

I'm as upset as everybody else about the lack of effort on Saturday, but it is just one game. One game before Christmas, too. Let's not define a coach on one game. He may not be the messiah a lot of us bought into, (and I know your overall feelings to the contrary) but its not time to melt down just yet

I like the Tanning Bed moniker. Fits him well.

As for melting down, I am not in meltdown mode. The only people in meltdown mode would be people who actually had high expectations from this coach.

Jordan Howell....

His only fault was he probably tried too hard.

Kinda makes you wonder why Pearl hasn't tried Prince at the point again this year. I'd take Howell any day of the week over Goins.

Let's not act silly.

About which part?

Howell was a completely serviceable back-up PG until he got in a funk and started pressing to get out of it. He wasn't an All-American, but he was smart and could run a semblance of a half court offense. You'd rather have Goins?

The Prince at point guard comment was pure sarcasm. I was not a fan of it at all.

You can't be serious...no one is that dumb

But, as a caller correctly pointed out, Basilio will be singing an entirely different tune the next time he has Coach Jones on.

Instead of ripping the team, he might ask the coach if they noticed anything on the film they need to work on.

Sorry folks, I forgot sarcasm doesn't always come across a computer screen.

Haha no worries. I was more or less responding to the Howell comment. Honestly I think Goins will be pretty good when its all said and done. At least a little more than servicable.

Probably one of the funniest ironic posts I've read in a while.

Well, right now I would take Howell over Goins every day of the week based on what I have seen thus far out of Goins. That part wasn't sarcasm.

JP at the point.....may we never see that again and if we can purge it from my memory I would be happy.

Agreed on the JP part

As for Goins...he has been better in every statistical category as a Junior than Howell had been in either of his two years playing significant minutes. Granted there is a lot left this season, but I think he will continue to improve and make you think differently in the end.

Every announcer out opens the broadcast with.... Tennessee team led by Tyler Smith. IMO no one on this team wants to be the leader, or at least is showing the enthusiasm to be the leader. I'm shocked that only 2 games have been lost so far.

No solid go-to-guy, no spark, no drive to win... I'm not saying this is right by no means but.... I have no desire to see them play this year. The past two years I went to over 15-18 home games just because those teams fought to win, and if they did go down it was a fight till the final buzzer.

:birgits_giggle: I guess we lost the glue that held this team together... Tabb j/k

True. But you won't hear any of that on the other channel.
