i think we still could use at least a point guard this year even if we settle for a non-elite guy... i dont want goins starting next year. Plus were only going to have 12 players if we dont sign anyone else. Not 12 scholarship players but 12 total. We'll be awfully thin.

and oh yea we will be just fine next year..after what i saw tonight,we will be FINE...plus the lane kiffin bruce peal picture in the ''real vols'' thread made me proud

i for one think it would be kinda nice to have a small lightning fast guard for once... all our guards are big... not saying thats bad but it'd be a nice change of pace

Can someone please give us what we have coming in next year, and the last 1 or 2 targets for the recruiting class?
THarris, Jordan McRae, TraeG and ....
We have a transfer from Marquette (name?) and what else?

Not sure if it has been discussed yet and sorry if it has. Are there signing limitations in basketball like there are in football? I know we should be able to take at least 4 more if we want to because I look at Mempiss which has 7 signed up for next year. Also, what is the maximum number of scholarship players we can have on the team at one time? Lastly, and I think it was asked above, what's going on with Negedu? I obviously know that UT will honor his scholarship but is there an NCAA rule that allows us to have an extra scholly for inactive players?

Thanks for your patience as I am just now becoming a basketball fan... couldn't really get into it with Buzz, and not old enough to go back any farther than that.

*edit* One more question, when is the final signing period for next year's class?

i saw trae golden play in the arbys classic just a few weeks ago. i think he would be capable of running the point but he would be better suited to play the 2 guard tho. he can shoot it!

Maymon is the kid from Marquette but I think we are out of room. Tabb is still counting against our schollys.

i saw somewhere that josh selby was going to come to this game and check us out 1 more time and to see kansas ,kansas is one of his top choices

We may be out of room? Not saying your wrong but just would like soom more info. We lose Chism,Maze, Prince,Smith and Negedu (due to medical) That's five, with possability of three others Goins,Williams,etc up in the air. We only have three coming in Golden, McRae, Harris so wouldn't we have atleast two spots open? Also I am getting Tabb and Tatum confused but one left the team early for some reason and the other was involved in the lasted as yet unresolved incident, can someone help me with which one left early? His spot should be open also. To me seems like we will have more spots available than there are quality recruits left uncommitted.

Assuming we don't have another APR hit, we get 13 scholarships. If all 3 suspended players come back, and no one leaves early, we'll have 9 scholarship players, including the 3 signees. If McBee gets a scholarship, and the Marquette transfer comes, that makes 11. 2 spots still open. If either one is not used, they might toss Josh a Bone and give him one. I am bored and frustrated sitting in a dentist's waiting room. That silly pun was necessary.

Funny for morning. Made me grin anyway. Have you heard any new info on three suspended or can you help a vol out figuring which player left? (Tabb or Tatum)
Make sure it is really numb before they fire up the ole drill :crazy:

im pretty sure Tabb got kicked off the team for conduct detrimental to the team before the season even started and Tatum was involved in the latest arrests.....

I must be missing something. Tabb was a senior wasn't he? Why would he take up a scholarship for next year?

Trae will run the point behind Goins next year, Tobias will see the floor immediatley probably in the role T. Smith was in, Mcrae could possibly get redshirted with the depth we have at the 2 unless he can move to the 3. Maymon wants to be a Vol but we cant put him on scholarship until next year because Tabbs scholarship is still counting against us for this year, his family was suppose to be discussing the possibility of paying for him to attend UT this semester. I could see Pearl going after another big for this class, dont count out Cothron the staff is still keeping in touch with him & are on him hard.
