Danke. I was meaning to ask those who attended how it went and how they looked... granted it was a pick-up game.

Nice write-ups about the guy's performances.

Good info. Thanks. I always appreciate any news and notes concerning the basketball team. It is often hard to find before the football season is over.

"There was some real basketball talent on that floor. The guys seem to be playing well together and they look to be in great shape already. I really think they have worked hard in the off season. It should be a fun year." - VOL FREAK

As far as talent goes, I'm glad that you saw something out there that was pleasing. With the way that Coach Pearl can recruit and the salesman that he is, last year's team may have the least amount of talent that a Bruce Pearl coached team at Tennessee ever has........and we know what he did with that team. You can't over-estimate heart, though. ..............

I expected the returning players to come into this year in really good shape, because they know a little better what to expect. I hope it is a fun year again. The sad thing is that some people's expectations will be really high this year after last year's success, but we are going to be young this year, especially already losing one of the two seniors we had (Wingate). Realistically, there will be some bumps along the way this year. I just hope most fans see that.

I guess after last year, though, we shouldn't under-estimate Coach Pearl, either, though! GO VOLS!!

By the way, does anyone know when there will be another open basketball "practice".......err, pick-up game?

And has anyone heard anything yet about this year's "Big Orange Madness" ?

Thanks. :hi:

I think Big Orange Madness would be in October, if there is one.

I hated to hear the news on Wingate. Looks like we will be depending quite a bit on the freshmen.
I'd say we are going to be young in a lot of places. That early schedule is suddenly looking brutal.

Well Done Freak. I have high hopes for this team I am sure coach Pearl will put things together to make it into a well oiled machine.

The young talent will grow up fast. Hopefully this will setup us up for a solid team 2 to 3 years down the road.

We are used to "young talent" that is not ready for SEC play for at least two years. We now have a top 5 recruited class, so I think we will be ok. These guys have already played against great talent and the NIT will only help us in getting them ready for the speed of the game in the SEC.

I agree completely! These guys were brought in knowing that they would contribute a great deal their freshman year. Great job with this info, Freak!!! I'm just waiting to see how good Ramar can play. Does anyone know if there is a scrimmage set up for the 16th?? I'll be in town for the Florida game and would love to catch one.

Hopefully these guys can gel together quickly. The early schedule should have them somewhat prepared for the tough SEC schedule. Unfortunately, though, lack of size and depth inside was something we just couldn't overcome at times last year, and now this looks like the same type of team.
