I agree that UT has played a good schedule. One thing that has boosted the strength of schedule portion of the RPI is the fact that Coach Pearl did a nice job of not placing any Savannah State type patsies on the schedule. While UT didn't play as many name teams in the nonconference portion as many teams, they also didn't play many teams with RPIs of 275+. which can kill your SOS ranking.

FYI-Post is being made at 11:50 central time.
If Tennessee reaches the magic 20 wins, I'll be happy. :dance2:

Well, there's a win at Rupp. What does everyone think now?

I'm going to say the ones that should be locks as wins are at Georgia, Auburn, and Arkansas. That said, Georgia is starting to play well. I view the others as toss-ups... they could all be wins if the Vols play like they did in the first half today on offense and defense for a full game.

One toss-up down. :rock:

I think I already stated what I think. Nothing has changed in my mind. we will either win out or lose one game....

@Georgia--W
Auburn--W
@Alabama--W
@Florida--L
Arkansas--W
Kentucky--?W?
@Vanderbilt --?W?

The last two games of the reg. season are the toughest ones for me. Though i wouldn't be suprised if we lost to Bama.

this UGA game, it'll be interesting, huge win, what happens....let down game? i know they've not done that all year, and i would expect that to continue, but you can't rule it out. National TV, huge win, blah, blah, blah.....

I don't know, this stretch is tough. plus we play most a 2nd time. they know what to expect this time...it'll be interesting to see how we react to that.

the only game on the schedule left that i feel sure we'll lose is the Florida game. that one will be tough.

the others, obviously i think we can win...

I don't agree. These guys were not intimidated by Rupp and UF won't be any different. I agree w/ 2345, but I don't see them losing more than 1 until the sweet 16. After that, it's all gravy baby! :biggrin2:

Never thought I'd be saying such things about UT bball.

So if Florida wins the game on 2/22, you will not cite the crowd as a factor and will concede that the Gators are simply better than the Vols? I don't think it is a matter of intimidation. Its a matter of distraction and momentum.

Maybe concede that they were better on 2/22 but not overall. I see your point on the momentum, but I also feared the same thing last night and it never came. Rupp was as loud as UF will be and it didn't seem to bother UT. In fact, it seemed to spur them on.

I think UF and UT match up very well. The guard play in that game will be something special to watch. I'll make a prediction later.

road games in bball are tougher, cause the crowd can play a factor. I think we would all agree that TBA has finally started to show some promise of that.

I do agree that the Vols withstood that run. I admit, when UK went up with 5 minutes to go 63-62, and the crowd was going, all i could think back to is how many times this has happened to us in the past, and we folded like a cheap tent.

For the first time, we didn't. that was the biggest road win we've had in a long time.

But combine the fact that Florida is leaps and bounds better than UK, that they have a huge home court advantage, if we should beat UF in Gainesville, this will easily be the best year of Vol bball in over 30 years.

could it happen? yeah, but if it's close in the 2nd half, i'd think i'd like the Gators to pull it out. For us to win there, i'd think we'd need to win BIG, and put it away early.

I'm not down on these guys, i guess i'm just not getting my hopes up. I'd rather be suprised and pleased than suprised and disappointed.

but that's me. For those that think we win, there is plent of reason to think so...but UF is good, and they'll be ready.

I know what you were going through. I got really nervous too when they took the lead. Then I started thinking about the UF and the Vandy game when our Vols pulled away in the final 2 minutes and they did just that......again.

That's proof of coaching right there. They knew what to do, they knew where everyone was, kept their heads in it, executed and they got the win.

I don't think this team will lose more than 1 more game, probably at UF. I just don't see CBP letting it happen. Even at UF, it's like coach says...a season split doesn't help us. A sweep shows we're for real.

If you can sweep the Gators, I'd be mighty impressed. But don't look too far ahead. That game isn't for two more weeks. You need to focus on what is right in front of you. As coach said in Hoosiers, don't get caught watching the paint dry.

that's a classic line, "we're gonna run the picket fence at them boys...oh yeah, and don't get caught watching the paint dry!" Hoosiers is definetly one of the all time sports movie greats if you ask me

Lawgator we could sweep the Gators winning down there by 20 and you would still be cautious. :birgits_giggle: You would be saying that you were going to have to wait and see this team in tournament play before annointing them as a great team. :crazy:

I am not as optimistic as most on this board. I am trying to take this one game at a time, hoping that I don't wake up. The Gergia game could be difficult. They are playing well and we have a short time to prepare coming off of a huge win. Sounds like a trap game to me.

why is everyone just marking the arky game up as a win? this is a very good team led by one of if not the best players in the sec. i know its at home, but they may be the 2nd best team we have left. id throw them in with uk, vandy, and bama.
