wanted to see how much interest there is on VN for fishing. I enjoy fishing different lakes in big orange country and could use more info.

I'm moving near Norris lake. I'm pretty stoked about it. We fish for striper and bass. I grew up fishing Douglas. Like they say, "A bad day fishing beats a good day at work!"

I've been going to Percy Priest at night since it's been so hot. Caught few good smallmouth last weekend. Work gets in the way of my fishing

I'm not a big time bass fisherman, being from Connecticut, we fish for pond bass now and then for a good beer drinking time, but generally it's either on the salt for Bluefish and Stripers, or my favorite, fishing small streams for wild trout.

Well I'll put it this way my friend...
I only do it for a living ;)
I work in a huge sporting good store where I help manage the tackle section and edit our TV show. I also guide on KY and Barkley Lakes.

P.S. They are BITING at night here something fierce. I fished a fruit jar tournament last night and had 21lbs of Smallies!!

If fruit jars are smallies, what are biggies? Gallon sun tea jugs?

I prefer Crappie fishing, but I really don't care as long as they are biting. Fish Reelfoot some and KY lake. Mostly I go to private ponds.

I fish bass fish alot, probably to much if you ask my wife. Fish tournies Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Usually they are on Barkley or KY Lake. Been fortuante enough to win several tournaments this year. Right now large mouth are being taken on the ledges and dropoffs on mouths of the creek, feeding in the river. Early morning the best bet is to go find a spring in the shallow. Last saturday we took 14lbs out of a spring in North Cross Creek. But, the last bite in there occurred around 8:30. This time of year when the sun comes out, you better go deep. Deep diving cranks on the river, topwater buzz in the creeks (mornings) but, most of my fish have came on a berkley powerbait red shad worm.

That will work, should still be fishing pretty heavy until bird season opens up. I crappie fish a little in the winter. Although, there is a place called Wells Creek. If you are familiar with TVA Cumberland City at all than you are right there. Wells Creek feeds off the river and runs right beside of TVA, in the winter the water is much warmer in there than it is anywhere else in the area, the bass flock to this place by the dozens. Rapala SR-5 baby shad raps are lethal that time of year. Look forward to fishing with you soon.

Also, forgot to answer your question. Last Saturday the bite came off of downed scaley bark hickory trees. So you have heard right....Don't let the secret out though, big money tourney coming up soon lol.

i like to do some bass fishing, sometimes some catfishing as well. one of the basketball boosters at the college i went to has a 100 acre farm about 4 miles from my house. on his farm he has a 3 acre pond/mini lake. you can actually take a lil boat out on it. stocked w/ everything, bass, cat, blue gill, brim, carp, crappie. so i just go out there whenever i feel like it. he has some big bass in there. the biggest i personally caught was last year on july 4th, i got a 7lb bass. I've seen 2 others that were bigger, one my boy caught in the spring weighed a little over 8, and then another guy caught one that was close to 10. the catfish are pretty big as well. walk out on the dock and put some chicken liver down, you'll get your catfish
