Saw a few of the guys rolling in early this weekend..some awesome boats! I'm going to try and be there for the launch on the 9th so I can give these guys some advice :) Wish my Dad was around to see it...he was the best fisherman that I've ever seen. He didn't much care for bass though.

Surprised at the size of those smallmouth during the practice rounds. I can usually catch numbers on Cherokee, but not much size on a regular basis. Glad to see them on a local lake. Should be fun to watch.

Yeah us neither, just don't know that lake like I do Douglas though, Dad would almost always choose Douglas even though Cherokee was closer.

I have fished Cherokee several times but I don't know it that well either. I have spent most of my time on South Holston and Boone.

I loved fishing Douglas growing up. We would drive over there from Kentucky. We'd catch white bass and crappie all night.

Haha, the crappie had black spots!

Talking about crappie brings back a ton of childhood memories with my Grandad. He could always figure out where they were and how to catch them. Mostly trolling. Those were good times for sure.

My dad is the same. That's his favorite to catch and eat.

Crappie and fries.

Good grief. I could eat a couple pounds of that right now.

I don't think I've ever seen a restaurant that offered crappie on the menu..there is a place here locally that has frog legs though...love those..like greaseless chicken! :)

Crappie, Bluegill and Walleye are the best tasting fish, IMO. Everyone else can have the catfish, trout, etc.

I don't think I've ever had Walleye I caught one once but we didn't keep that day. I've always wanted to catch a sauger but haven't gotten one yet.

Keep the next Walleye you catch. You will be glad you did. I've never caught a sauger unless it was when I was too young to remember.

I think I've seen one, but I probably wouldn't have ordered it.

The way my grandmother fixed it probably ruined me. It would be hard to match.
