Battle for the Gansz Trophy: #25 SMU (9-1) vs Navy (7-2) (CBSSN)

It's currently 21-10 SMU at halftime, in a game that could go a long way towards determining not only who could win the American Athletic West Division but also could factor into which Group of 5 team will receive this year's at-large berth in the Cotton Bowl (currently between #18 Memphis, #19 Cincinnati, #20 Boise State, #24 Appalachian State, and #25 SMU). Memphis, SMU, and Navy are all currently 5-1 in conference play and the Tigers still have 2 games against USF and #19 Cincinnati (9-1) before even reaching the American Athletic Championship game.

The winner not only stays alive but also receives the Gansz Trophy.

Navy has stormed back to make it a 1 point game. It's 21-20 SMU with 3:07 left in the 3rd quarter, but Navy has the ball again at the SMU 30.

Navy's going to run out the clock to win the Gansz Trophy this year.

Unfortunately for SMU, this and Memphis's 49-10 lead over USF is going to eliminate them from both their Conference Championship Game and any chance of playing in the Cotton Bowl.
