Read where Auburn's QB is questionable for Saturday game against Arkansas. Will be very interesting with Dobbs at the helm against 2 ranked teams also going to their bench to play their 2ns string QBs.

Don't wish any player to get injured but could make for different dynamic the next 2 weeks if Auburn's starter does not return.

Technically, depending on where he was regarding Ferg... Dobbs is technically either our 3rd or even 4th String QB.

I think Auburn's backup, Jeremy Johnson, is better than Nick Marshall. And i hate Auburn.

Talk about a ton of pressure on Dobbs? If you stay healthy, control the ball, throw darts, run like the wind, toss zero INTs, score mega points and win a minimum of 2 out of 4 games, of which 2 are considered as the top 10 teams in our country, your faithful Vol Nation will get to travel to the Unknown Bowl and get the chimp of our back. If however you fail this mission......

Get over it Dobbs is the starter, if fergie is as good as most of you guys think he will get his shot!

Although I see your point, expectations are on all of our players continuously from the coaches, fans, etc. The "Pressure is always there". And, us getting to a "unknown Bowl game" is much better than us not being good enough(after all the work you and I didn't do) and not getting to a bowl game. The more I read your post, Im convinced.... you're a "Whoever is dominant FAN"=bama.

Am I the only one that's not worried about the QB this week?

Dobbs stood in against the #1 team in the country and did fine. Mizzou is an over ranked team and Dobbs will do fine against them.

Vols win.

I think Auburn's backup, Jeremy Johnson, is better than Nick Marshall.

Maybe in the future, but Johnson has only gotten time against scrubs so far.

Marshall has been excellent this year and his performance against A&M cemented him as the starter this season. Now if he can just learn to avoid taking so many hits while he scrambles...

Got a feeling that dobbs knows the playbook better than ferguson. They are really high on dobbs and how quick he was able to pick up the system. The best qb (on our roster) will be starting tomorrow night no doubt.

Agreed all kids have pressure, but with four games left, Dobbs has gotta step in and honestly, carry the dreams and hopes of the team and VN. The microscope is focused on him waaaay more than the other players - so just saying that this kid has a ton of pressure. I wish him well and hope we win all four!! And hey, I do appreciate your compliments - Go Vols!!

Dobbs got tons of hype when he signed. Most of it from VN. Then peterman was going to beat out worley. Then peterman blows it. Dobbs gets a shot and now everyone says Riley is better as if they have ever seen him. Nobody here is ever happy with anything. Always has to be a controversy.

I think we as fans have gitten into a rut. We have been struggling so bad with QB play, now we convince ourselves every next back up will save us. Hell.im right there with yall but bet Dobbs is the man to get it done.

Dobbs is good, but Ferguson is the best QB on the roster!
Wouldn't look for him to stick around unless Dobbs chokes the next 4. (Don't think he will)
Fergy's stock was off the charts coming out of the Elite 11 this summer.
If he can come up with a hard ship (not that hard these days) he could probably pick a pretty good D1 school. Had offers from Bama and Lsu.
If they weren't both freshmen it might be different.

I would say that tomorrow, Maulk would have the advantage over Dobbs. Maulk has played an entire S.E.C. game, Maulk's other offensive players are better than our players, at this time, and Maulk is at home.

As far as Auburn, I would say that we might have the advantage at the q.b. position by next week. With Dobbs having two weeks of practice as a starter and an entire game experience.

I would say that Gus is a better q.b. coach than our q.b. coach though.

Can you back that up? It is getting really old. Bunch of sore losers over Dobbs playing ahead of Ferguson. There is enough ammo on either side to make an argument for whomever your are for. Have you seen Ferguson play against #1 D in the country? Let it rest and be excited. If Ferguson is really better i'm sure he will get the start next year. For now it is Dobbs.

.

Fact Check
Keep hearing how Ferguson excelled at Elite 11. I have no qualms on stating this. But misses a huge point. 25 players invited to Elite 11 and only 11 were named to Elite 11 list after competition. Guess who made the list and who didn't? Dobbs. Ferguson was not. GOOGLE it. FINAL ELITE 11 RANKINGS 2012. Article on August 15, 2012 ESPN. Ferguson not mentioned. Dobbs #11.

In fairness, Ferguson injured his hand during the Elite 11. FWIW.

That's fair

. My point was that I am not finding any evidence that Ferguson was a standout there. Only mention of Donna. From some post out there it is urban legend Ferguson won the whole thing.
