Bay helming TMNT, turtles will be aliens

I was into Turtles as a kid. Liked the black & white comics (they were pretty hard core for their time) and the cheesy cartoon. Don't really care for them too much now, like I still do for other properties (Star Wars, Joe, Transformers).

That said...

Michael Bay needs to die. Somebody needs to assassinate this guy. He has to be stopped, before more childhoods are raped.

Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles?

Alien

Alien

Alien

I'm sure the movie will be about a human boy named Carl (cause Casey is not normal enough) Splinter (who happens to keep a pet rat to appease the fans *wink wink*), and he falls in love with a teen girl next door named April O'Neil. Her dad will be in the military, and he will be named Colonel Shredder, just so Bay can get his military fetish in. The ALIEN turtles will try to hook Carl and April up, but Colonel Shredder will oppose their relationship and use the military to destroy the turtles in scenes with lots of explosions and slow motion.

Also Beebop and Rocksteady will be racial stereotypes.

I'll say it again. Bay needs to die. At one time I thought he was ok in small doses, but now he is going overboard.

The very first TMNT movie is still one of the greatest things upon which I've laid mine eyes.

It's one of the few movies as a kid I remember vividly the day I went to see it. Mainly because I was 12 and my friend at I were dropped off for a 5:00 show in a shopping center that had the closest theater to us (a town over) and it only had 2 screens. The 5:00 was sold out so I had to borrow the phone of the theather to call my parents to tell them, and this was before cell phones. We then had to entertain ourselves for 2 hours, which to a 12 year old is an eternity, so we pretty much bothered every store in the shopping center.

In the end, the 2 hour wait was well worth it.

It's got the best adult appeal of any "stupid kids movie" that I can think of.

When I went to see #2, my 3-year old bro had to sit on my Dad's lap because the theater was so packed. He proceeded to piss all over the old man's leg from excitement.

I liked the first movie. Haven't seen it in a long time. I don't remember the second, other than Vanilla Ice's Ninja rap and Kevin Nash as Super Shredder. Never have seen the third one.

Edit: Just watched the trailer for the 3rd one. I'm sure it is bad, but it seemed like a cool premise. Could be awesome if done in a more gritty way, like The Last Samurai.

I can't wrap my head around the reason why he would want to change it to aliens... just doesn't make sense at all. Mutant was the premise of their story!

I was obsessed with all things TMNT as a youngster. Action figures, cartoons, movies, everything!

And as for Bay, doesn't he know that in space, no one can hear you scream "Cowabunga!" D-bag.

Movie/filming shut down for now

Ninja Turtles Shut Down - IGN

Paramount has shut down pre-production on their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, while also pushing the release date from December 2013 to May 2014.

The Hollywood Reporter's sources say the film has script problems. The project -- which is simply called Ninja Turtles and has caused much ire among fanboys for changing the nature of said turtles and making them aliens -- is being produced by Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes outfit. Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans) is directing a script by Kevin Eastman and Andre Nemec. (Eastman also happens to be one of the original creators of the characters.)

"[The studio is] temporarily laying off pre-production staff and informing those prepping the film that the work stoppage is 'indefinite,'" say sources, who are expecting a 10-week delay.

The announcement follows on the heels of two other Paramount delays: G.I. Joe: Retribution and Brad Pitt’s World War Z.
