Who would have thought UT basketball would have more 5* recruits (1) than football? Never thought that would ever happen.

At least we got one 5* at UT (not counting womens bball).

That is a good point now that you think about it. But the truth is that UT is going to have quite a few 5*'s in the 09 class.

Yea, I'm looking forward to next years class. With this last class all we can go is up. If not, Fulmer is not doing his job and needs to go.

Football 5*'s:
Eric Berry
Brent Vinson
Kenny O'Neal
Chris Donald
Ben Martin
Walter Fisher
Demetrice Morley

Basketball 5*'s
Scotty Hopson
Duke Crews
Ramar Smith
JP Prince

If you take out O'Neal and Fisher, the football team still has more 5 stars.

Basketball has more 5 stars per player than the football team does.

Yea, I was just talking about this years recruiting class, but the 8%/31% stat is also relative to the thread. I think CBP needs to do some recruiting for the football team as well.

Wasn't Crompton a 5* too?

I don't know if that's a legit point...just based on the difference in the amount of players on each squad...

If the football team were to have 31% five stars on their team it would mean that 26 out of 85 players have a five star rating....

I may be wrong but I don't think even USC or Florida have that many five stars...and they have dominated recruiting for 3+ years now...

But I agree completely that this years football class sucked and we are in trouble if we don't rebound with a bunch of five stars next year

I think the competition for football recruits is higher. Most schools take football more seriously than basketball, especially in the conference we play in.

I agree with that...and think about this...

In a 4 year span...if you get one 5* recruit in basketball and they all stay then you have 4 out of 12 scholarship players or 33% of your squad with a 5* rating...

On the flip side...if you do that in football...then only 4 out of 85 or 4% of your squad is a 5*...

It's defintely harder to get a high % of 5*'s on your football team
