BCS Games in General

Wanted to make a thread and get some other opinions...

I mean, I get that they "select" teams to play in these BCS games, but I'm starting to wonder if they even take into consideration what kind of game they are getting. It looks to me like now, instead of trying to put a good game together, their effort is simply to try and create a BSU vs OU situation.

I know, save the "BCS is for 1 vs 2", I know that. I would just think that these specific games would want good games. They charge alot of money for commercial time and noone is watching the 4th quarters. UI and USC was a laugher and a bad matchup, so is UGA and UH. I have a feeling that KU and VT will be also.

Just want some other's opinions. Do you guys think they should seriously reconsider how they put the games other than the BCSNCG together also?

BCS games are meaningless other than the championship game. I really am not impressed with UGA beating the crap out of Hawaii or the best team in the PAC10 crushing the second best team in the Big 10.

Never going to happen teams that play in the BCS get I think it's 14 million dollars a team...So thats all the presidents see they could care less about a playoff

I believe that money is actually split up with their respective conference.

Sorry, wasn't trying to start a playoff debate thread. Wanted people's opinions on the terrible matchups this year, I think they could and should have been better and would think the people picking them could see it.

The KU-VT matchup shouldn't be too bad. LSU annihilated VT. KU played pretty well against Mizzou.

The Hawaii problem was created by the pollsters. Plain and simple. They wouldn't have gotten into this game without the fact that they were highly over ranked.

The USC-Illini problem was created by the Rose Bowl. This is the one that really gets my craw because it trickled down to other games. Instead of choosing the most deserving team, the Rose Bowl chose their precious Big11 - Pac-10 matchup. This created a crappy matchup in the Cotton Bowl b/c Mizzou belonged in a BCS game, not playing Arky. If the Rose wants to be part of the system, they should follow the idea of putting the best teams in the BCS games.

They should've left Illinois and Hawaii out of it. What a couple of miserable games.

Not much sense in putting in two teams Missouri beat (Kansas and Illinois) and not Missouri. Missouri even had a better record than the Illini. I'm not sure what the logic was there.

the Big Ten/ Pac Ten deal with the Rose Bowl, they try to make that work if possible

They put Kansas in because of only having one loss, even though it was to Missouri. And by their own stupid rule, only 2 teams per conference can play in a BCS game, so Missouri was knocked out of contention, even though they deserved a bid more than several of the teams that got in.

From my understanding of the rules, the only team that could have gotten in instead of Illinois is Arizona State. Even if you mix the games up a little bit, it isn't that much better.
