VT-Pitt would be awful...maybe it's just me, but #15-#20 versus an unranked team does not scream "BCS bowl" to me.

I know that's the probable matchup, but...man.

Would love Oregon-TCU and Auburn-OSU. Stanford-Nebraska would be nice, too.

I guess for what I'd like to see:

NC - Oregon vs. TCU/Boise (preferably TCU)
Rose - Stanford vs. Wisconsin
Fiesta - Nebraska vs. Pitt (I guess I have to pick the Big East champion somewhere...ugh. Awful, awful conference)
Orange - Virginia Tech vs. Ohio State
Sugar - Auburn vs. Boise

I had to go back and edit. I had a rematch Utah vs Bama but realized I hadn't used a ACC or Big East team yet...which is sad.

Boise State-LSU would be a fun one to watch. The Hat vs. The, err, Chris Petersen needs a nickname.

Can we just tell the Big East that all the spots were taken this year?

Playoff, baring that no 1 v no 2. All other bowl games are pointless exhibitions.

That Pitt-UConn game tonight makes me hate the Big East even more. How does such an awful conference get an automatic bid to the BCS? Their champion won't be ranked and it won't deserve a spot in the bowl game it gets into.

I expect Notre Dame to luck into bowl games like this, not the terrible Big East "champion".

Florida versus anybody .... :)

Although, when I think about it, who would be on tap? Va Tech ? Booooring. Nebraska? Ugh, I still have nightmares from Fiesta Bowl. Maybe Boise State if its Oregon v TCU for all the marbles? Orange and blue versus orange and blue? In that game, Florida by 25.

That the matchup would happen or the result?

Any minimally motivated S E C team would crush BSU.

Yeah, I distinctly remember Alabama making the same argument about Utah.... :ermm:

I'm not saying you guys would for sure lose but to think your gonna beat a Chris Peterson BSU team in a BCS Bowl with a month to prepare by 25 is laughable.

I'm right there with everyone in the weakness of strength of schedule, questions about deserving their shot at a NC Game but if there's one thing Boise State does and does well... It's show up for big games.

When was the last time BSU LOST a big game? Let alone got crushed by 25?

If you want to give me BSU and 25 points versus UF, I would take that action all day.

I emphasize "minimally motivated."

I seem to remember a Utah team excited to be there and prove itself against a very good SEC team and an Alabama team a few weeks removed from having their national title dreams crushed by those damned reptiles. Simply put, Alabama did not want to be there. It is funny how memory works.

Thank you for proving my point. Notice LawGator's "minimally motivated" phrase....

Also, I never have understood how a "championship" team from the vaunted SEC could throw away a BCS Bowl Game. You know if they had won the game we'd be hearing about how "Alabama had something to prove."

I'm of the opinion that if they really did come into that game with the attitude you always hear they supposedly had ("Oh... NBD that they lost that game... it was an exhibition... they didn't care") I'd be ashamed to be wearing those colors.

What an absolutely deplorable show of pride. Doesn't sounds like any competitor or champion that I've ever heard of. It's a BCS Game. It's nationally televised. It's an undefeated opponent. C'mon 'Bama. Where's your heart?

At the bare minimum... It's a non-AQ playing an SEC team. Conference pride anyone? It comes down to that old adage of... "If you think this isn't a big game. Watch what happens when we lose it."

If a team phones in a BCS game. They were never a championship caliber squad.

Alabama cared so much about that game that one of their players didn't bother waiting for it to sign with an agent.

Back on topic...

Oregon vs. Auburn would be highly entertaining. Lots of points.

Between TCU and Boise State, I'd rather the Ducks play BSU just so Oregon could get a shot at some incredibly sweet revenge.

BSU/TCU in the title game if both Oregon and 'Barn were to stumble would also be tremendously entertaining... strictly from a "Implosion of the BCS" viewpoint though.

A Florida team that came back from the dead to win an SECG would be pretty pleased to have a BCS game.

They'd show up.

Probably purely hypothetical discussion, however.

Have a feeling Spurrier is sick of hitting that late season fade with the cocks every year, like 5 iron with a weak grip, ball off his left foot, open stance, and inside out swing.

That's my point. I get that they had already had their souls crushed by not getting to play for the BCS Title. But still... I just think that's an absolutely shameful attitude. Show some pride and heart.
