Who was the Eistien who decided to remove strenght of schedule from the BSC formula?.... that is the only thing that really seperated it from the old polling system( I don't take much stock in all of the computer rankings) I don't know which is screwier this or the new system for NASCAR?

Not sure. I don't know any Eistiens and I've never heard of the BSC. :D

Seriously, any changes that the BCS makes are just going to be a reaction to whatever pissed people off last season. It's so funny to me - the BCS was concocted to take the subjectivity out of the process; then they decide to swing it back in the other direction when they don't get the result they want. Why even bother? Just go back to the old poll system and let everybody argue about it. It's part of what makes college football great.

The BCS :bs: actually approached the AP prior to the 1998 season about using that poll as the sole basis for selecting a national championship game. The AP writers said they were about writing news, not creating it. Thus the first BCS formula was invented. So far the changes that have occurred are knee-jerk reactions to perceived injustices the season prior. The latest removal of the Strengh of Schedule (SOS) component is due to the thought that it is redundant. All of the computer rankings have an SOS component built into their algorithms. I think it also appeases the non-BCS schools that were threatening legal action. It would be interested to see how previous seasons' rankings would look with the current formula?

I was thinking about this earlier today. The forumula has been different every year and it makes you wonder how these differerences could have impacted past seasons.

I think that the strength of schedule should have stayed in it. But at the same time you should get extra credit for making it to a conference championship even if you lose.

You should not be invited to a BSC bowl without winning your conference champ game... that :censored: ain't right! but then again not much about the BSC is right.
