The Vols have moved up 2 spots from last week to 16th in the latest pre-BCS ranking. The first Harris poll has been released, so it takes its rightful place in the formula instead of the AP. 2 computer rankings have still not issued their first rankings and 1 computer ranking has not released a new ranking since last week.

Tennessee in the polls (last week in parenthesis):

AP 15 (15)

BCS 17 (18)

Coach 18 (19)
Harris 15

AH --
BIL 33 (29)
COL 17 (33)
MAS 8 (20)
SAG 15 (21)
WLF --

This week's top 25
1 Ohio State 4-0 0.9645

20 Florida St 3-1 0.2039
21 Boise St 4-0 0.1954
22 Nebraska 3-1 0.1554
23 Wake Forest 4-0 0.1543
24 Missouri 4-0 0.1356
25 Rutgers 4-0 0.0912

Other Vol opponents
35 Arkansas 3-1
38 Alabama 3-1
44 South Carolina 3-1
49 Air Force 1-1
66 Kentucky 2-2
76 Vanderbilt 1-3
88 Marshall 1-3
109 Memphis 1-2

Billingsley's rankings are so bad, he had the Vols drop to 33rd after beating Marshall 33-7, while Cal is ranked 10 spots ahead of the Vols at 23rd.

does not bode well for Auburn
Man, if this happens to Auburn again.
On a side note collegefootballnews.com has TN at #8 so OBVIOUSLY this is the only accurate poll. This is what else they have:
"The Cal win is going to look better and better as the year goes on. Blowing up Marshall is no big deal, and beating Memphis isn’t going to get any national love, but the Vols have speed and skill to burn. If you believe in Florida, then you need to believe that Tennessee might be really, really good."

Exactly. We are still a young football team and I think we will continue to get better.

Billingsley's computer ranking will be released at noon today. California and Air Force jumped up big in the other computer rankings.... which in turn moved up the Vols. Should Billingsley follow similarly, the Vols could move up to 15 in the BCS calculation.

Actually Tennessee moved down a spot. Billngsley has Tennessee at 33rd, which is 16 spots away from the closest other poll.

His system is a joke.

I ahte to say it but I'll be pissed if Auburn gets screwed again. Thats only if we are not undefeated. Again the SEC would get shafted. Only if it were Bama and not Auburn getting screwed, thats would be fine

I doubt Auburn will get screwed again. If they beat Florida and Georgia, I bet they'll jump USC. Plus, they'll play a highly ranked team in the SEC championship. Of course, they really didn't learn from their earlier mistakes and schedule better out of conference games, so it's their own freaking fault if they get screwed again.

Nice to see you can take a 26 point beat down at home and be number 11. Seems like a good system to me.

Seems like the season isn't over yet, nor are any BCS polls officially released yet. Seems like you don't understand the system to me.

Auburn would be one.

Auburn should play tougher out of conference opponents. They were better than Oklahoma that year. That would have been better displayed if they had played a decent team outside the SEC. They could maybe have played an average Big 12 team, to give a nice comparison to Oklahoma. They could have played a lot of teams. They played the Citadel. Jimmy Clausen's high school might be able to beat those guys.

Auburns' schedule will take care of itself with games against UGA and UF and Bama and ARK and USC still remaining...

the OOC will hurt them, and if there are 3 undefeated teams (two of which being any of the following: USC, MICH, OSU), Auburn could get left out...If it's just AUB and one of those teams undefeated, i can't see a one loss team getting in ahead of them...

Thanks to Billingsley, the Vols are now 17th in the pre-BCS rankings (were 16th prior to his ranking was released).
