I was reading an article earlier on espn written by Beano about how it would be an easier road for Weis to get to the national championship game this year than Meyer for the simple reason the schedule, he always says the SEC is the toughest conference, he also said to Tennessee fans a little patience with Philip Fulmer, whose track record deserves some. He's such a huge college football fan and maybe thats why I love the old guy and we are of the same sign(ha ha).

Beano is a Notre Dame homer who probably isn't right as much as he should be, but I like him for some reason.

He's Andy Rooney's twin, they were separated at birth and both gravitated to conservative republicanism in their own special way.

Didn't Beano predict 3 Heismans for a ND qb??

That's what I mean about being a ND apologist. Ron Powlus is still looking for his trophies.

Beano Cook sucks. There's already enough people on ESPN who talk up Notre Dame. Not to mention recruiters. Tom Lemming, anyone?

But that's the funny thing about Beano . . . I think even the people that like him know that his predictions suck.

Maybe they just like his demeanor? Who knows, I just like intelligent football talk. Unfortunately ESPN's college analysts don't seem to have a lot of it... Though for most analysis, I go to the local and regional level. Those folks usually know a lot more about what they're talking about than guys on the national level. Less to keep track of.

i hate Cook but he knows his stuff pretty well, except when it comes to ND he is too baised to listen to anything he says about them.

Actually he is a Pitt and Majors Homer.

Why would any real man take Beano and deprive himself of the experience?

He's a Pitt, Majors, etc. guy.

Isn't he the one that most wants to "dot" the "I" for the Buckeye marching band or is that the old "georgia pine" Keith Jackson.

Beano is on The Herd at ESPN radio very often during football season. His predictions are no better or worse than any other talking head you hear these days. I just like to listen to him ramble.

Beano has a healthy respect for the tradition and strength of the SEC. In fact both he and Collin Cowherd, the host (who is made is name on the West coast) generally agree that the SEC is easily the best conference in the country. He routinely calls the UT coaching job one of the top 10 jobs in the country.

He drives me up the wall. I usually will not listen to him. When he comes on Gameday I turn the channel for a few minutes.

I like Beano because he hates baseball with a passion and I know why as I tried to watch the Braves and Marlins tonite (friend of family from our hometown , Josh Willingham, plays for the Marlins). Anyway, I'd forgottened how slow a baseball game really is with the manager coming out to the mound, the pitcher shaking off the sign, etc. I kept saying play the game so Josh can get anothe swing at the ball, arrgh!! :banghead:
