Beast and Tiny going pro a good thing?

Seeing Johnson rushing off the edge would be interesting. I could see it happening. Not sure if he has the ability to shed the blocks, but he could be really good at it with right coaching.

I don't remember if it was Tiny or Johnson that said something along the lines of being really hyped about what's going on at UT and thinking how next year would be really interesting... possibly hinting at wanting to stay. I think it was Richardson.

It was Tiny, no way he stays.

So you're going to take our best, most experienced linebacker, put him at DE and replace him with true freshman? :eek:lol: OK!

I think he's saying he'd be better suited to be an edge rusher with his lack of speed. Maybe I misread it.

Let's not kid ourselves, just because he is the most experienced and best doesn't make him the best option at MLB next year by default.

Tiny is gone! His mother works as a housekeeper in a nursing home here in Columbia. His goal is to take care of her. We would leave, too! Good Luck, Tiny!

GO VOLS!!!

I would like to see AJ put on another 15-20 lbs of muscle and line up at defensive end next year. He could be Walls' replacement next year. If he is too slow in pass coverage against SEC teams he is too slow for the NFL period.

I agree with other posters on this site that feel that Tiny is a good as gone but he does need work on the mental aspect of his game. I would love to see him back next year especially with a second full off-season to reacquaint himself with Butch's offense.

AJ is a very good two down mike. He is not good in space however and you generally don't see those types of LB's drafted early. Another year won't change that.

Just give me Cam Sutton and 10 new starters on defense please. Our defense is soft and lacks speed and football IQ. It's better than last year though and will be MUCH better next year, even if it is mostly new players.

Agree with your review of AJ but not your opinion.

I think it is great if he stays. We will have youthful guys in the LB corps and his leadership and experience can only help in the transition. Like any position in football ...more talent and depth surrounding a player can only make him look better

I can tell you that AJ is absolutely not going. I posted this elsewhere. Funny it got brought up.

He graduates next December. He wants to continue to grow as a player, help the team, be a leader on defense, and get his degree.

Going pro isn't an option for Johnson, unless school unless UT isn't an option for him (grades, he hates school, or whatever).

He simply isnt' that good of a pro prospect. He'd be a fool to turn down another year playing in the SEC and getting his degree in order to be a late round draft pick.

I'm hoping that with the increased speed on defense we have coming in, that it will mask some of the problems in AJ's game.

Probably neither good nor bad. We will adjust and have new talent to help out either way.

Tiny will likely go... but I gotta think this year has hurt his draft stock.

Most draft sites CBS, Walter Football, ESPN, etc. Have Tiny in the first round of their mock drafts, I have even see him as high as 14. AJ I have seen either 1st or 2nd round in current mock drafts.

I think AJ has the potential to be a really good DE with some added weight. You don't need a freshman to replace him. We have Maggitt(sp) and Weathard.

Bray made it into the NFL, so there is always a chance.

Yeah, when having little-to-no depth at many positions in a roster littered with inexperience, it would soooo ideal if two of our best players left next year. Yeah, let's hope for two All-SEC players to leave. I think that'll help us out next year. All we need to do is let our defensive leader MLB and 1st-round LT leave, and the East is ours!!!!

smh.... I have no idea what is wrong with some of you

I don't see AJ leaving...too many NFL scouts and "pundits" saying he isn't qute ready and needs to learn a little more.

Tiny is a toss-up...would be great to have him back to help anchor a young O-line...but he is definitely first round material.
