...game of every year.

You all know the perennial dread of the 3rd game of the year.

And the year-long depression thereafter.

A constant reminder that Florida's regional recruiting advantage relegates Tennessee to 2nd-tier status in the SEC.

Perhaps that has changed. With a win, we have reason to think we can flip the script.

We need for Clemson to fall off a cliff to have absolute dominance over recruiting in our sphere of influence.

I just don’t see it this way. Every game is the most important that week. I’m not a recruiting expert (OP’s angle) but all games are important to me.

If the argument is “What about the cupcakes?” I say they are critical tuning opportunities.

The big games and conference games are going to be personal to each fan, player, coach (GA, AL, OU).

Got to get ready for each and every game.

You can't get rid of the UTEP type games, those programs would fold without the cash we pay them. It also allows us to work out the kinks coming out of fall camp.

UT puts way too much emphasis on the UF game. It's a lot more important for UT than it is for UF for some odd reason.

Get rid of those games asap. SEC schools write a check to smaller schools in their own state. Tennessee donates 1 million to Chattanooga or UT Martin. We should be playing one more SEC team at least and Clemson, USC, or Miami.

The Vols are way down the line of teams that the Gators consider their rivals:
Georgia
FSU
Miami
Bama
LSU

Tons of recruits at the game enjoyed the win and saw a team with some voids and opportunities to fill year 1. Idk i liked the win
I LOVE THE WIN. We came on in the second half and shoved it in their face in OT. Any time we beat the frickin' Gators is icing on the cake no matter how the season goes. My sister is a Gator alum and I've heard enough of her arrogant rant for years ranging back to the Spurrier days. F the Gators. GBO!!!
