as always, the comments section of the NYT article is filled with the classy musings of supposedly well-educated people.

Personally, I rarely watched his show. His radio show was entertaining, but once he made the jump to TV, he became just like Imus, tired, bored and gaffe-prone. I believe he's done good work, such as exposing Van Jones and ACORN, but he's become more of a televangelist recently.

Looking forward to who FNC picks to fill in the 5pm hour.

I was so tired of his fear-mongering. He was scaring the crap out of my Mom, Grandma, and other elderly loved ones daily.

[ ] Beck's 15 minutes have been up for a long time, now.
[ ] Beck's rants and raves make even Fox worry that it will hurt any semblance of them as a news organization.
[ ] Fox wanted some of the seed or gold money and Beck wouldn't share.
[ ] Beck has some personal foible of which we don't yet know, but will eventually prove to be really awful.
[ ] Beck needs time off to build his ark.
[X] All of the above.

he has one of the highest rated programs on cable tv. i assure you this only has to do with money. o reilly harrased multiple women and still didn't get fired.

LG's just mad that Beck's exit from FNC will be far less ignominious than Olbermann's humiliating firing from MSNBC and subsequent employment at a TV channel nobody watches.

i'd love to be "fired" in the same way beck was. love the SF chronicle title: Fox drops Glenn Beck show
Conservative TV host faced falling ratings and an advertiser boycott.. Interesting interpretation.

His ratings only beat the competition everyday he was on the air.
