Bedlam - Paddles - how?

Watching the OSU/OU game the other day, I wondered - how do those folks in the first row get those paddles into the stadium?
Genuine question, does security allow them through after showing their ticket for appropriate front row seat, or maybe they are placed there by staff in advance?
In this day and age and the amount of security at the gate, I genuinely wonder how those folks have paddles in a stadium.
