Pardon the thread Freak/Mods/board. Wanted to share this article with BeecherVol, as I think it's of mutual interest to both of us.
It's an old NY Times article so you may have read up on this or you may already know most of it since I assume you are more versed in the Beecher family literature than I. Anyways, there were some neat tidbits, particularly about Lyman Beecher and his grandfather that I thought you would enjoy. We spoke about Harriet Beecher sometime back and I seem to recall that you were of (direct?) relation, so that would mean your kin came from New Haven? Correct me if I'm wrong. If those are your kin then you should get a kick out the article. I'm in the process of going through both sides of the family tree at the moment, so finding some interesting things and of course the Beecher side is quite a bit more interesting than the other sides.
Shoot me and email if you'd like
Would love to hear about any traces you've done or any family history you can share as that side of my family is rather thin now.
Will be putting in an order for his book about the Beecher family as well, as it looks like a worthwhile addition to the ol book shelf.
Here is the NY Times article;

Hope you enjoy. :hi:
