If the series loss at MSU was not worse enough, we lose midweek and then get swept at Auburn.

Auburn's talent is roughly equivalent to ours and this is not acceptable at all.

I realize (for whatever reason) no team but Auburn has left me scratching my head as the Tigers (no matter how bad) managed to beat some of the best Vols teams.

With the dismissal of Nick Blount and this past 10-days' scores, it is clear there is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes.

We had talent issues (especially offensively) as some of our guys' talents are better suited for OVC or SoCon. However, now our pitching has gone in the tank too! WTF?

I obviously got my hopes hope. We can and should be able to qualify for Hoover but now it will have to be from behind as we lost on consecutive weekends to teams at our peer level (going 1-5)

who do we pass for #10. I still think MSU and Auburn are on the bubble. Vanderbilt played much better this weekend taking 2 against Kentucky. UGA ground out a win against LSU today.

We are a hard #11 right now. We lose the tiebreakers to UGA, MSU and now Auburn.

A series loss against Vanderbilt pretty much makes the task next to impossible.

After today, I think we will be 2 games behind Vanderbilt, Georgia, Miss State and Auburn. Basically we will be 2-1/2 games tie breakers.

In every season, there is a low point. This is the Vols' right now. Do your guys have the fortitude to fight through it to the end?

The team needs to dig down deep and get to the problem. CDS plays hard ball, and the guys need to follow his lead.

we're not going to hoover. this team has tanked it. i like cds, but he has no talent to work with. the cupboard was bare when he got here. i didn't expect us to go to hoover at the first of the season, so i'm not let down. after this weekend's beat down, i just hope we can win 25 games. that was what i felt would be a good season for this team. we'll go to hoover next year.

Todd Raleigh has no business coaching in the SEC. Rod Delmonico's results were to inconsistent. He had some ballers while he was here. No reason for him not to be very succesful every year he was here. Serrano's got his work cut out for him to get us competitive again.

Lot's of good points, but this is key to me. It all started on april 14th with the suspension of Thornton, ironically we won the game vs. UF with Kidd getting his first SEC start. Since then we've lost 8 out of 9, the only win... ETSU at home.

Effectively losing your friday, saturday starters and your closer in a little over two weeks time is a killer. These guys are also upperclassmen with a bit of experience.

All we have left is this series with Vandy, this is the last hope for Hoover and yes, I realize that this means, less than a 5% chance of post season play.

If Godley can't go this week, less than a 1% chance.

can't disagree, but the bigger truth is that mike hamilton had no business being an a.d. in the sec. everything he touched turned to s--t. if he bought a funeral home, people would stop dying.

Where were on a vacation?

Either the Vols have been put in major hole, and when it's a nailbiter they are unable to produce the clutch hits.
No Godly, Blount are major losses.

If that is another of saying continue to hope then I'll say yes. Although the Vols have to start winning now because Vandy has finally gotten out if the bottom 2 with the Vols on a major losing streak. The best chance the Vols have is win the last 3 series, unrealistic for them to sweep all 3 but a slim chance they could get a sweep.

They became the 1st team to beat Kenttucky in a series, major confidence.

Think he can recruit top-notch talent to Knoxville? That's my only concern as far as he is concerned.

Those that I have spoken with that have first hand knowledge of a number of recruits don't sound optimistic. The instate commits aren't SEC caliber as a group seems to be the opinion of those I have spoken with.

Jackson is a top 100 high school talent. Houser is a top prep catcher. Giacolone is a JUCO All-American. Stewart is highly rated by PG. Owenby is a lefty that can touch 90.

I feel like there is a good core of recruits. It's no guarantee all these guys will be getting money or a guaranteed roster spot so they can be easily replaced once better talent comes in. I think Tennessee has fallen off so much that it will take time to recruit elite guys back here again.
