Before the first game, if I gave you 8-1....

Don't let your adjusted expectations override what has actually happened this season. Ran into a buzz saw tonight but we still have a very likely 11-1 record in play. We also have a better than 50% chance at the playoff.
Going into the season, anyone would have taken that in a heartbeat. It's just a little disappointing because a win tonight would have put us in Atlanta. Hopefully we get our loss out of the way now and run the table through the playoffs. :)

Great point.

We aren’t out of this. Cmon Irish. Cmon Tigers. Dawgs win the SEC.

It’s not over boys. Alotta football left.

I'm pissed we lost but damn we're still sitting good. Keep grinding keep recruiting. My goal for season was a 10 win season. Didn't expect to be #1 going into week nine.

I disagree about the playoff estimate because there’s too many other variables at play along with the subjective opinions of a “committee”, but if we don’t win out from here on—extremely big—then we don’t deserve to be in a big bowl anyway. We’re gonna win out, but I don’t think Hooker gets the Heisman anymore and I think we’re more around 38-40% chance to make playoffs.

Oh I'm disappointed but told myself after the Bama win to start enjoying this one a bit more.

The actual models showed we were around 53% with a loss

This season has been so fun and exciting! It has brought new life and energy to Knoxville. It is a great stride for recognition with recruits. I’m dang proud and will be thrilled if we win out 11-1 and are even near the playoff discussion. Better than anyone would have dreamed

If you had given me 8-1 at the beginning of the season, I would have bet someone had given you drugs.

This loss sucks but you are correct. This team has exceeded expectations this year and 11-1 is a great year and still very possible/probable.

Agreed. With all the blaming, complaining and just general negativity just wanted to say how proud I am of this team. We’re not done yet guys not by a long shot. Go Vols!!!!

Of course we all wanted to win. I kind of felt this game coming, told my wife I thought we would lose by 10. But damn I proud of this team and coaching staff. What an amazing year.

if you offered me 9-3 with a win over Bama before the season started I would have taken it no questions asked. I am most likely getting 11-1 with wins over Bama, FL and LSU. AND Maybe a shot at the playoff, not to mention being ranked #1, I am beyond satisfied with this 2nd season.

When we got to 4-0 and entered the top 10, I was thinking that we had @lsu, Bama, UK, and @UGA coming up and I was just hoping we’d still be ranked by the end of this week. Instead, we went through the gauntlet 4-1 and we’ll probably be 5th or 6th. Still a lot to play for.

Beating Bama and Florida was more than enough to make me happy. The rest is gravy. I'm going to enjoy the rest no matter what
